Today is the information society, along with the rapid development of computernetworks, Internet data streams into a geometric growth. With the growing demand fornetwork, network performance requirements are getting higher and higher. MPLS(Multi-Protocol Label Switching) can improve multi-service capability switchingtechnology. In order to ensure the reliability of MPLS networks, FRR (Fast-ReRoute)technology plays a key role.With the urgent demand for testing, when the main CR-LSP needs to beprotected, it needs taking the initiative to establish protection tunnel for link or nodeprotection. The backbone network has large capacity, and also needshigher requirements of reliability. In this paper, firstly, we study and research the basicconcept of main technology and application of MPLS, MPLS TE, RSVP and FRR. Thispaper is mainly to achieve the automatic fast rerouting that based on the original moduleand expanding from the FRR. The purpose is to create backup tunnel automatically. Inorder to achieve automatic fast rerouting better and ensure better reliability of thenetwork, we need a comprehensive understanding of the FRR working principles. Afterstudying the related technology, the three aspects of AUTO FRR are designed andimplemented:1.The commands are designed and implemented, which mainly used tostart the function on the equipment, it completes the design and implementation of userinterface;2.Data structure is designed and implemented, the protection path table andthe Tunnel ID table are designed and implemented, and the original data structure isexpanded to support the MPLS TE AUTO FRR function;3.The design and realizationof establishment, deleting and other functions is competed, and is the key point ofthis paper. Finally, the MPLS TE AUTO FRR function is tested overall, including thefunction, performance and stress.Test results show that MPLS TE AUTO FRR has achieved the desiredgoal. Through the appropriate network configuration, the backup tunnel will be built forthe all main tunnel automatically. When the link or node of the network is failure,the network is protected automatically, and the flow will switch into the backup pathautomatically, the user data can be the minimization loss. The function can ensure thenetwork to be high reliability and stability.
