With the development of power grid construction, the number of traction wire rope fortension stringing is greatly increased. But the traction wire ropes are used in complexenvironment and frequently turnover. So there will be arise inevitably phenomenon such asbroken wire, wear, corrosion and even sudden fracture. Human security and the normalproduction of whole unit are closely related to the damage conditions and load-bearingscapability of the wire rope. So it is urgent to develop a wire rope effective maintenance andtesting equipment which will be used for ensure the safety of the wire ropes. In order toachieve better maintenance result,this paper studies how to control the tension of the tractionwire rope cleaning and detection line. Moreover along with the improvement ofindustrialization,the factory puts forward higher requirements for control system, such asautomation, stability, security and so on. Control system is researched in this paper is basedon PLC and touch screen, not only to meet the requirements but also to reduce labor cost.The main research contents as follows.Process flows for the traction wire ropes cleaning and detection line is introduced whichpaved the way for designing the whole tension project. Through the scheme demonstration,the paper is drawn the tension scheme for the overall control system. But the broken wireropes detection unit needs the traction wire ropes running under the condition of constantspeed in the process of traction wire rope cleaning and detection line. Divided the tractionwire rope cleaning and detection line into pay-off part, detection part, take-up part and madeeach part to individual control which in order to meets the control system requirement.To establish mathematical model of each part, and analysis the executive componentsand make its mathematical model, such as MPB, tension sensor and so on. Finally set uptransfer function for each part.To establish simulation model for traction wire rope cleaning and detectionline.Simulation studies for each part. PI controller is designed and analyzed in this paper.Because of the PI controller cannot meet the requirement of system about high precision, sothat the fuzzy PI controller is be designed. he results show that the fuzzy PI controller is fit forusing in the control system which can be obtained constant stability though comparativestudy.The control system based on PLC and touch screen is accomplished via Easybuilder8000 configuration software which editor and debug interfaces. The traction wire rope cleaningand detection line can be running remote manipulation in real system. The control systemwhich based on PLC and touch screen makes the automation and intellectualization to berealized. The most important is that the control system makes the human factor has fallen tothe lowest degree. And it can monitor temperature and speed parameters real-time andimproves production efficiency.This paper focuses on the study of method for the tension control system. Lay a goodapplication foundation for the traction wire rope cleaning and detection line.
