As the important components for traction and bearing the weight, the state of the wire ropes has direct relation to the safety of equipments.But,current testing system for wire ropes has many shortcoming. The system based on MCU can not communicate with PC.And the system based on PC is inconvenient for taking.Therefore, this paper puts forward a new scheme for wire ropes testing, which use the ARM7 microprocessor as the core.First,this paper introduces the basic principle and method in wire ropes non-destructive testing,and the development and foreground of embedded microprocessor.With the need of wire ropes non-destructive testing,we select the ARM7 chip as system principal part.Later,this paper introduces the the whole function and design blue print of the system. According to the characteristic of wire ropes non-destructive testing,we select the magnetoresistive sensor HMC1022.The system use S3C44B0X as core.And we design a USB interface for the system with USBN9604.In the follow,this paper introduces the design of hardware and software in detail.The hardware circuit include magnetic leakage testing circuit,S3C44B0X peripheral circuit,LCD connection circuit and USB interface circuit.And the software include the config program of ARM,LCD driver program,the firmware of USB and the broken wires signal processing program.Finally,the paper summarizes the work and introduces the prospect of the system in the future.
