Explortaion And Practice Of Shaanxi Mobile GSM Network Paging Success Rate Optimization

With the rapid development of mobile communication technologies, the competition among operators is becoming more and more intense in recent years. However, voice-based GSM network is still the key of operators to win the competition in the context of strong incoming of3G/4G network. Operators hope that the GSM system can be more powerful and more efficient to satisfy their customers. Therefore, in order to meet the customers’demands, it is very important to optimize the network continuously. This thesis analyzed the paging process because it influences the network connection success rate and customer’s perceives directly.This thesis is based on the network of Shaanxi Mobile, after a detailed explanation of the overall mobile communication and the voice as well as SMS paging process, it shows the key position which paging is occupied in mobile communication. Then, from the point of overall view, the thesis analyzed the entire process of paging and focus on the initiate of business process as well as the convergence processes among the key devices. At the same time, the thesis did some deep research on key factors, correlated channel, parameters and capacity assessment, summarized the relationships between various paging factors and paging success rate as well as some key factors such as core network, wireless network and so on. Based on previous analysis, making use of field testing and performance statistics data, the thesis did investigations and analysis on several aspects, such as the status quo of CS domain paging success rate, the paging success rate between different switch ports, joint analysis of CS domain and PS paging domain, investigation and analysis of different paging in city and village as well as wireless channel resources, analysis of random samples in a location area. After the study above, the thesis proposes a paging optimization scheme based on "3+2" and armed with optimization means such as joint paging. According to the testing results, the paging success rate of Shaanxi Mobile upgraded about4.3%.
