With the restructuring of the telecommunication industry, the competition between major telecom operators becomes increasing severe, consequently business diversification and network quality optimization is the key to competitive victory. Therefore, achieving network resources rational allocation, improving network quality and enhancing user perception become priority of maintenance work.Emphasis of radio network optimization lies in finding problems, analyzing problems and proposing solutions. By adjusting the parameters of hardware and software, making the network to achieve optimal performance, maximize network capacity and improve the average service quality of network. Moreover, to find effective means and methods of optimization is the key to improving network quality. This dissertation begins with CDMA lx network indicators, elaborates drop call mechanism, paging process and soft handoff process, through collection and in-depth analysis of network parameters find the elements that affect the drop call rate, paging success rate and soft-handoff factors, combined with the actual network conditions, respectively, propose a variety of methods for solving network problems and optimizing network indicators and put into practice in routine maintenance. It proposes analysis and solution methods which contribute solving drop call problems through appropriate measures in different directions. A new solution that opening SHAPCAR function and the second paging channel is developed for the phenomenon of paging channel high-load, which effectively reduced the paging load and enhanced paging success rate after implemented and provided new ideas and methods for low paging success rate problems of other cities being caused by paging channel high-load. We can reduce soft-handoff factors and save network resources through the application of a new handoff algorithm. The author also presents a new idea that we can obtain pilot pollution area by statistical analysis which is able to guide DT adjustments later. This method will improve pilot pollution and high soft-handoff problems in part of area.It is proved in practice that optimizing methods presented in this paper is feasible and effective and has guiding significance in the maintenance work. It also forms a general standard of radio network system optimization process which provides models and templates for system optimization and specific optimization in the future.
