Paging, as one of the four basic behaviors in2G/3G networks, is very critical to the communication quality of mobile network. The network is measured by the paging successful rate, and works in the process of paging users, involving many network elements and factors. The paging successful rate is impacted by many different factors, fundamentally including two types:network side and user side. Any one factor could cause the failure of user paging. Therefore this thesis focuses on anlyzing the reasons holistically and then come up with reasonable and constructive suggestions on how to significantly improve the paging successful rate.The main conclusions are as following:1. Analyze the basic paging process of2G/3G and conclude the key factors for paging success. The research focuses are the function stability of each network element, and the setting of soft parameters, especially the network structure, and the quality factors of wireless network.2. Make suggestions on how to solve paging issues, such as screening method of normal factors, and paging loss analysis method. Screening of normal factor is widely used in normal network issues. Plenty of case studies indicates and ensures the operatability and applicability of this method.3. Creatively design the solution directions for accurate paging under2G/3G network, prove the application feasibility in real network, and confirm the research methodology from the ruling, practice and improvement of paging.4. Realize systematically improving paging capability of mobile communication network. The thesis takes City A as real example, to optimize the network for half an year, accumulate rich experience in exchanging and wireless paging, and then provide precious material and case studies for communication industries, especially the companies of communication equipment and facilities.
