The internet of things(IOT) is a kind of network that all devices are connected to theinternet through equipment such as radio frequency identification device, wireless sensornetwork, the terminal equipment to exchange information and communicate in accordancewith the contract agreement. With getting more attention of the government and relatedinstitutions on the development of the IOT and the social demand for professional talents onthe Internet of things, The major IOT is set and IOT lab is constructed in more and morecolleges and universities. However, IOT products for the field of teaching instruments isrelatively less on the market currently, most of existing IOT products are aimed at the non-teaching instrument field. The technology included by these products is too hard for thestudents and the design idea is also different from experimental instrument. Students can’tuse these products to do relevant experiments to reach the teaching goal of combiningtheory with practice.This thesis introduces the definition and function of IOT gateway, analyzescharacteristics of several common wireless network transmission technology, introduces thefunction of ZigBee protocol layers, three types of ZigBee wireless communicationmechanism and network topology. Double processors structure (STM32+CC2530) isadopted to develop IOT gateway. The hardware structures of IOT gateway and theschematic design of each unit are given in detail. CC2530is chosen as the final ZigBeetechnology solution of this system by the analysis of several ZigBee solution on the marketand considering the factors of comprehensive cost. Then CC2530characteristics andschematic design of each parts of the node are given detailedly. In the part of systemsoftware, thesis introduces the software development platform, the corresponding firmwarelibrary and protocol stack, focuses on the system communication protocol which is animportant part of communication. Second, Thesis introduces the IOT gatewaycommunication diagram, function, main software tasks and procedures for implementationideas in combination with the software flow chart. At last, code is written and the wholesystems are debugged.Parts of the product pictures are presented.The development of the IOT gateway, the isolated I/O port node, the serial port and theLED driver output node has been finished, which meets the needs of courses and practicefor students majoring in IOT. At the same time, IOT products will be applied and displayed together and the software and hardware platform is provided on which you can do someresearch related with relevant technologies. This topic has important economic and socialvalue and brings related industries development.
