Study On The Security Monitoring Software Interface Design

With the rapid development of China’s economy, security monitoring system has beenapplied to various fields of national economy. A successful security monitoring system cannot do without a good security monitoring software. With the upgrading of securitymonitoring system, the role of security monitoring software in security monitoring systemhas changed from the supporting part to the core part. Thesecurity monitoring systemprovides a system of security solutions through the security monitoring software.The security monitoring industry has developed rapidly in recent years, and securitymonitoring software has become more and more important in the security monitoring system.However, the user interface design and user experience ofsecurity monitoring software havenot kept up the pace ofthe development ofthe security monitoring industry. Meanwhile, thereis a huge gap between related domestic Internet product design and security monitoringsoftware. Currently, Interface design level of security monitoring software is still relativelylow. In the domestic, there are few researches in the interface design of security monitoringsoftware, not yet formed standards of security monitoring software interface design.Firstly, this paper conducted a very detailed study on the characteristics and problems ofsecurity monitoring software by the methods of comparative analysis and survey. Then, onthe basis of precious researches on interface design including visual interaction and visualperformance,this paper presents the relevant standards of security monitoring softwareinterface design which including contact, consistency, simplicity, predictability andtimeliness.Finally, according to the relevant criteria proposed, I completed the design anddevelopment of the final product——the Anyvision security monitoring software by steps ofinformation architecture building, prototyping and visual designingin cooperation withaprogrammer whom works at my internshipcompany. Through the comparative assessmentbetween the old and new interface by usability testing, the results reflect the new interfacehas improved in five aspects, including the interface is simple, without too much visualinterference; clear and logical information level; the elements on interface are easily todistinguish; the use of controls complies with the standard andthe interface can give clear and timely feedback.Thisalso proves the effectiveness of the security monitoring softwareinterface design principles that proposed by this paper.
