Child-oriented Software Interface Design Studies

This paper stems from the project of National High Technology Research and Development Program (863 Project),named "Research on Computer Aid Concept Design Technology for product"(No.2002AA411110),and a funded research program of Shaanxi Province, "the Shaanxi Province culture industry information development research".By researching and analyzing the current status of software interface design and software interface design for children, and based on Market investigation, this paper analyzed and distilled the physiology characteristic, Psychological characteristics and Cognition characteristics of children for software interface design, and combined those with graphic interface design, Semiology, Cognition psychology and Design art, advance the " children centered design" method and principle of software interface design for children. Finally, took a software interface design as an example; validated the feasibility about this method and principle.This paper offer the designer a systemic method and principle to design software interface for children. And fill up the vacancy of interface design for children in the filed of China, and also established a base for the farther research.
