The software interface is the first impression when users contacting software products. Its importance is self-evident. To make your software products to win more customers, the software interface is essential to be aesthetic, to be easy to use, and to accord with operation custom of the majority.The domestic testing machine industry only focused on the support of software and hardware of the interface, lacking in-depth study in interface design itself. User interface design has not yet become a independent part of the software design. The software interface is compiled by programmers according to their preferences. The programmers pay attention to how to carry out the function through the programming language when designing interfaces. While the user types,user psychological feelings,interaction of user interface and the beauty of interface layout etc are often lack of consideration. This resulted many defects of interfaces design of the testing machine in existing manufacturers, such as inaesthetic interface design, unreasonable interface layout, inconvenient use,the high rate of misoperation and so on.Based on this situation, this paper researched software interface of representative electronic universal testing machine from the perspective of Design Art. According to analyzing to the software users, the theory of software interface design is summed up. It can offer theoretical gist to software interface designer of the electronic universal testing machine, and also can provide reference to other software interfaces design.This paper firstly introduces related subject knowledge such as: Cognitive Psychology,Ergonomics,Color Design and Semiotics. To do interface design well, it is necessary to be familiar with these basic theories and to consider comprehensive knowledge of these subjects in design process. Then the paper analyzes the software feature of the electronic universal testing machine and the development situation both at home and abroad, ensures the necessity of software interface design, and establishes the user thinking model and the user task model according to the analysis of user requirement from the perspective of Design Art. Finally, taking the electronic universal testing machine exploited by Jinan Xing Zhifeng Technology Co., Ltd. as example, the paper probes into the overall layout design of such software interface, such as design of interface elements text, graphics, colors, icons, buttons, start screen, windows, menus, toolbars, and help etc. It also probes into the process of software interface design, and then carries through interface test and evaluate.
