Water palys an important role in our production and life,but with thedevelopment of science and technology,and the speeding up of industrialization andurbanization, the human will face a chanllenge of the lack of water resources and theserious water pollution.Water quality monitoring as an important method forprotection and management of water resources is more and more important. Today thewater quality monitoring system in china is build child stand in water source,the datathat Sensor collected Transmitted to the monitoring stations by means of cabletransmission.However,the cable transmission not only needs high cost but also theconstruction and maintenance are not very convenient.With the rapid development ofwireless sensor network technology, people put forward a higher requirement forwater monitoring.Although the traditional node can complete the task of dataacquisition, processing,sending and receiving,but it also has the disadvantage of poordata processing ability,low efficiency and poor flexibility. The appearance of FPGAbroke this deadlock, it has powerful parallel data processing ability, large internalresources and rich pin,so it can further improve the function of the node, and fullydisplay the advantages of both.This topic is to improve the traditional water quality monitoring system into awater quality monitoring system based on FPGA and wireless sensor network, torealize the real-time monitoring of water quality parameters. Not only the problem ofthe difficulty of cabling and networking is solved, but also by useing thecharacteristics of FPGA which can be customized, a new sensor nodes which has lowpower consumption, low cost and small volume was designed,and the cost is furtherreduced.The focus on the design of the monitoring system is the sensor nodes. The threewater quality parameters of temperature,pH value and conductivity were taken asmonitorning object. The FPGA and wireless sensor networks technology werecombined.The EP2C5Q208C8chip was used as the core,and the CC1100wirelessradio frequency chip which can well transplant the ZigBee agreement was choosed for the radio frequency module,The SOPC technology was used to construct a systemon chip. Some IP core of control module were customed.The driver of each modulewas writted to make the node has the function of data acquisition and transceiver. Asimple wireless sensor network was formed. In order to monitor the whole system,theVB software was used to design a PC display interface which used for datareception,display and storage.
