With the development of modern communication technology, there are the closer relations between the wireless network technology and people’s daily life. At the same time, along with the acceleration of urbanization, there are more and more large public building facilities, such as sports stadiums, theatres, financial center, which result in increasingly prominent problems. One of the important questions is the large-scale building security work. The wireless network technology provides a good technical platform to solve this key issue. From this, we put forward a localization algorithm which is set for the complex building indoor environment. And we have made the practical test for our study, by using the indoor monitoring and localization system designed by the project team. Meanwhile, the paper mainly makes the analysis of the performance of AODV routing protocol, which based on the wireless sensor network technology.Wireless sensor network (WSN) is constituted by wireless sensor node components, which can monitor the environment or objects and are deployed in specific area. It is the product of the wireless communication technology, the sensor technology and embedded technologies’ integration development. As a new technique, the WSN has been widely used in industrial monitoring, environmental monitoring, office automation, medical care, military defense and so on the multitudinous domain, and the indoor monitoring and positioning problem based on WSN is in a growing concern.This paper mainly makes the study in two key technologies: localization and routing. In localization, the paper has made a detailed research on WSN location algorithm earlier put forward, and puts forward a range-free approach named Approximate Point In Layer (APIL). It bases on the principle of the layer in the three-dimensional space, which is appropriate to the sense of the large building complex indoor environment. Simulation results in MATLAB have verified the high estimation accuracy achieved with APIL, even under the complex propagation.In respect of routing, this paper studies the performance of AODV routing protocol, which is from the actual situation in the set of wireless sensor monitoring network. And it has made the simulation in four different scenarios by using the network simulation software OPNET, to obtain a series of test data. And the conclusions from these data have not only provided abundant theoretical basis for the construction of wireless sensor monitoring network, but also provide the research foundation for the further improvement of routing protocol.In the finally, this paper makes the actual test for the study of above, utilizing the indoor wireless sensor network monitor and localization test system designed by our team.Through the test, the results show that this research can not only be well applied in the indoor monitor and localization system based on WSN, but also provide the reference for many other indoor applications.
