Mobile Ad Hoc network is a kind of self-organization and multi-hop network without central. Node can leave or enter the network freely as a router or a host. Since the user terminal of the network moves freely, the topology of the network will always change, so how to choose a route to the destination node is a very important issue. Research on mobile ad hoc network has a very important significance. With communication quality requirements increasing, design routing protocol become more important. Not only pursing the high quality of the service but also pursing the low po wer consumption. Designing the routing protocol that has low latency, low spending, high network lifetime, high packet delivery ratio is still facing great difficulties. This thesis describes the characteristics of mobile Ad Hoc network in detail and makes an in-depth analysis of the principle of AODV routing protocol. Some improved schemes are provided on this basis, the main work is as follows:This thesis proposes an improved routing protocol named Improved-AODV. This protocol chooses primary route and backup route as selection mechanism in the route discovery phase. In the route maintenance phase, this protocol combines the source node repair and local node repair. The simulation results show that the proposed improvements protocol can significantly improve network performance. This thesis puts forward an energy-optimized routing protocol ES-AODV. This protocol made some improvement to the AODV on the view of energy. The remaining energy of node was considered in this protocol. And adjusts the delay of the RREQ according to the remaining energy, so it can avoid using the low energy nodes; In the maintenance phase, using algorithms to avoid routing failure, which reduces the probability of the routing failure. Simulation results show that compared with the traditional AODV routing protocol, ES-AODV reduces network energy consumption and prolongs the survival time of the network.
