In 2007, the Ministry of Education issued Measures for the implementation of free education for normal students in the normal universities which are directly under the Ministry of Education (for Trial Implementation). It put forward that the six normal universities which are directly under the Ministry of Education began to implement free normal education, from the fall semester of that year on. At the same time, it emphasized that normal universities should strengthen the educational practice of normal students. The implementation of this education policy shows that Chinese nation pays high attention to the education of normal students. The teaching abilities of Normal students is one of the key abilities to judge whether or not they can competent to be a teacher. So it is very important to research the development of normal students’ teaching ability and analyze which factors can affect the improvement of these abilities in educational practice, which can provide significant basis to education of normal students and has important theoretical and practical significance.I studied the development of the teaching abilities of free normal students from physics apartment in Central China Normal University and analyzed influence factors during their practice. I show my research through five parts as flow:The first part is consist of several important elements including how I put forward my questions, research content, research significance,the progress of my research and the methods I use. Besides, I explain some related concepts and summarize the relevant researches.Next, I mainly introduce study design and the tools to analyze the date for the investigation of the teaching ability of physical free normal students.The third part is the discussion of the results. After the test of the reliability and validity of the questionnaire, I analyzed the overall development situation of teaching ability and each index of every dimension of teaching ability in education practice in detail. Then I discuss the factors, which can affect the teaching abilities of physics free normal students, one by one and the relation of different factors. Last, I investigate the advice, from physics free normal students in Central China Normal University, to the measures to improve educational practice.Then, I not only summarize the conclusions but also put forward feasible suggestions. I get five conclusions from the research. First, no matter before and after the education practice, the teaching ability of the 2012 class physics free normal students in Central China Normal University is moderate to upper level, and the overall teaching ability is improved significantly during the education practice. Second, the improvement of their teaching abilities are mostly due to their instructors during the educational practice. Third, their improvement is very limited to the relatively short time to take part in the educational practice. Forth, except the instructors, their attitude and lecture can significantly affect their improvement in teaching abilities. Fifth, the normal students hope for more teaching resources especially movies of the excellent teachers. On the basis of the conclusions, I put forward five suggestions. First, normal universities should pay more attention to the educational practice. Second, the normal universities can choose excellent instructors help the normal students. Third, universities should provide more education internship time to normal students to have more lectures. Forth, normal students should keep projective attitude during the educational practice so that they can get more improvement. Fifth, normal universities should coorperate with secondary schools to provide better teaching resources to normal students.The fifth part points out the deficiencies of my research and put forward the problems that need to be further studied.
