With the advent of the Internet age, massive open online courses (hereinafter referred to as MOOC) have become a new trend in recent years. Dissemination of classroom resources are no longer limited to the traditional physical classroom teaching, combined with new internet technology, we are embracing changes in teaching methods. Comparative access to resources from the limitations of traditional classroom, the Internet provides people with a richer and more convenient option. The rise of online education guides the behavior of the Internet learners. More universities and other types of educational institutions together with teachers and other commercial enterprises participating in MOOC, we are experiencing the world’s far-reaching education revolution.The purpose of this study is to analysis the basic status of ideological and political theory course in MOOC, based on the collection of domestic and foreign MOOC existing research, together with political theory courses provided in Tsinghua University and Fudan University, we are able to provide suggestions for the development of the Ideological and political theory course. This paper focuses on the status and practice of Ideological and political theory class at MOOC mode, as well as the Ideological and political theory course of impact and inspiration. This article is divided into the following sections:Part 1:Introduction of the research on this subject in the background, this part proposed themes and research value of this paper. This section describes the current status of research on foreign and domestic MOOC, together with the relevant literature review, as well as research methodology and structural arrangement.Part II:Definition of MOOC’s conception, including the introduction of MOOC’s characteristics, also this section introduced the definition of political theory course in MOOC.Part III:This part describes the impact of MOOC to traditional ideological and political theory course. First, it introduced the opportunities brought to ideological and political courses by MOOC; secondly, this part analysis the challenges posed by MOOC in the angle of students and teaching effectiveness.Part Ⅳ:This part of the illustration selected two classes to do the analysis, namely Tsinghua University "Introduction of Mao Zedong Thought and theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics" and Fudan University "Ideological and moral cultivation and legal basis".Part Ⅴ:From the aspects of curriculum development, student development, teacher development and platform construction, comprehensive evaluation, on the basis of the status quo on the practice of curriculum studies, integrated classroom teacher interviews and student questionnaires, this part analysis the course from both curriculum development, teacher and student three aspects to come to an conclusion that the ideological and political theory courses MOOC courses are facing plights, and analysis the reasons behind the plights.Part VI:combine all the difficulties and the reason mentioned above, this section presents the strategies and thinking, from schools, teachers, students, platforms and theory course itself five aspects.
