In Thailand, the abortion has been an important social issue which is always ignored by the major society and yet not solved. Even though the socity gradually developed and changed, the abortion problem becomes more serious and the abortion rate gets increased. Especially among teenagers, that accidentally got pregnant, have to go to unofficial clinics for illegal abortion. This matter should be raised and awared to the public society, and it must get solved. However, Thailand is a Buddhist country, which most of the Thai has influences on Buddhism. They believe that hold that life begins at conception and that abortion, which would then involve the deliberate destruction of life, should be rejected. Since they even against any surgical abortions, that makes it more difficult to solve this social issue. Today the Thai society becomes more open mind, yet this belief still exits which sometimes not considers even neglects some special circumstances such as the failure of contraceptives, the health and mental problems caused by physical and emotional changes during pregnancy, teenagers got pregnant during school, economic problem, fetus is not growing or developing normally, and so on.By law, abortion is illegal in Thailand except in cases of rape or incest, to save a woman’s life or preserve her physical or mental health, and if the woman is under 15 years of age. Abortion is sometimes referred to as a victimless crime, where there is no apparent victim and no apparent pain or injury, it usually involves only consenting adults in activities such as Prostitution, Sodomy, and Gaming where the acts are not public, no one is harmed, and no one complains of the activities. Since the misunderstanding and toleration of abortion as a victimless crime, it causes a negative impact on many aspects of the society, most importantly; it contradicts the moral and value of Thailand. In nowdays, there are about 27 social service organizations offering abortion service for pregnant women in Thailand, meantime, such organizations also are in charge of dealing with the relative problems caused from abortions. However, those problems were not resolved thoroughly. Therefore, the large number of such organizations do not mean a perfect solution for such problem. Actually, in Thailand history many parties repeatedly proposed to improve the law of abortion in Thailand to spread the range of legal abortion in order to makes pregnant women holding more rights to choose. But most people still consider abortions as immoralities. In fact, Thailand will face more severe social problems if the government insist to seriously forbid abortions seriously. Because those who chose abortions mostly have no ability to raise their kids up. In consequence, the problem lays on the selection between social morality and the social problem solving.Nevertheless there is no agreement on this issue so far.Due to the most people who choose abortion are teenagers, therefore, understanding cognition for untimely sexual behavior, attitudes for abortion legalization and comprehension for abortion law from them is beneficial to relative solutions。This thesis, which uses the quantitative research method, conducts questionnaires by 284 students from 3 schools which are in different locations. Names and locations of 3 schools are as follow:Benjamarachutit School in downtown, Benjamanusorn School in uptown and Khlung Ratchadapisek School in remote area. After our investigation, we found that the teenagers know much basic knowledge about abortion, most of them have the open attitude on untimely sexual behavior.Even, some of them hold the positive point on this problem, meantime, most of them approve of abortion legalization, but they still misunderstand some terms of the abortion law. Besides, it shows that male appeared to be more accepting than female in abortion.Briefly, the differences of school, age and the comprehension of sexual knowledge directly influence investigation result. So their attitude and selection are not same because of these factors. After investigation, the statistic analysis shows that the people have the positive attitude on abortion legalization, but in the real Thailand society, different groups still have no agreement on this point. As the development of society going, abortion law in Thailand may be changed, but still require more attentions and reasonable advises from society and academic circles.
