Abortion related to unmarried pregnancy is getting wide attention. As the general abortion age of patients are getting lower, and the habitual abortion are more common, this phenomenon is causing more serious harm to the adolescents both physically and psychologically:Complications that accompany abortion can do harm to the patients, and have potential danger in future pregnancy; besides the physical and psychological pain caused by early pregnancy reaction and abortion operation, women who have abortion also suffer from pressure brought about by traditional cultural values and taboo. The harm caused by unmarried abortion exerts long-term effects of the work, study and life of patients, sometimes could even cause social problems. Based on conclusions from previous studies, several women volunteers younger than30were selected in the waiting room for abortion operation. Volunteers were asked to answer following5psychology questionnaires-SSRS, Interpersonal Attributional Scale, NEO-FFI, SAS and SDS.81valid questionnaires were recycled, including38from married volunteers and43from unmarried ones. Seven cooperative women were face-to-face interviewed after answering the questionnaires. This study analyzed the psychological situations of abortion patients from sociology, social psychology and social spirit medicine perspective. The data were analyzed using SPSS20.0, and serious anxiety and depression were observed in our study. The depression and anxiety levels (48.79±7.81and50.91±8.84, respectively) of unmarried individuals were significantly higher than married individuals (40.70±9.23and41.54±10.54, respectively)(p<0.01). Then combining with information from interview, we analyzed causes of the psychological problems from the perspective of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory. Then we studied correlation between psychological problems (anxiety and depression) and personal traits (demographic information,SSRS, Interpersonal Attributional Scale and NEO-FFI results) to further discuss the relevant factors of psychological problems, and the multiple regression equations are given. According to the result of multi-variant gradual regression, neuroticism, attribution ways and age were the three most important factors affecting anxiety of abortion patients, with the regression coefficient being0.477,0.315,-0.273respectively; neuroticism and age are most closely related to depression, with the regression coefficient being0.613and-0.269respectively; Conscientiousness, extraversion and openness were most closely related to social support, with the regression coefficient being0.308,0.322,0.315. It can be seen that personality and social conditions are important factors in psychological problems caused by unmarried abortion. It can be concluded from our study that psychological intervention in perioperative period, attribution intervention, personality cultivation and post-abortion care (PAC) of medical institutions should be emphasized in adolescents taking abortion; besides, education, school management, family support, community service are also important parts in alleviating the psychological pains of abortion patients. Media and government should also pay more attention to the prevention of unmarried abortion. It is expected that a multi-level social support system should be constructed to alleviate the problems related to unmarried abortion.
