| In foreign Chinese teaching, vocabulary teaching is primary task and normally we measure learners’ Chinese proficiency by testing how many vocabulary they acquired and whether they can use it correctly. Only they acquire basic vocabulary can they communicate with others smoothly by the language. Therefore, to some extent, the vocabulary selection in foreign Chinese teaching textbook is essential to learners. However, the author surveyed and counted most of Chinese textbooks on the market and the statistics suggest the vocabulary which beyond outline is quite serious, especially in advanced foreign students-oriented Chinese textbook.When the author worked as a intern in the International College of Yunnan University,she participated in the task of advanced teaching and found in the International college of Yunnan University, the vocabulary in foreign language teaching materials students use is heavily beyond outline when compared with "Chinese Proficiency Vocabulary and Kanji Syllabus" for different compiling concept and tight time. It results in "teaching" and "learning" more difficult, and leads to a lot of adverse effects. So this article will take vocabulary in "Boya Chinese" senior Comprehensive Textbook (five) as study object, combine with related vocabulary theory and quantitative analysis by interview,class observation and practical experience, related documentation to compare with the vocabulary in "Chinese Proficiency Vocabulary and Kanji Syllabus" to find the reason. Then analyze the impact for teaching and learning and give some suggestion for vocabulary selection in "Chinese Proficiency Vocabulary and Kanji Syllabus" to inspire the similar teaching material compiling and foreign Chinese teaching. |
