The Study Of Measure Word “Ba” In Modern Chinese Teaching As A Foreign Language

In modern Chinese,the measure word “ba” can be verbal measure words and noun measure words. It not only can count the number of the people and things but also can do measuring the actions.With its various meaning, rich syntactic features, it can describe the objective things, measuring things and behavior,mean time,it can reflect the subjective attitude of compliment and pejorative of the speakers.Just because of these distinguishing characteristics, Foreign students and teachers find it has become a difficulty for them to learn and teach. This paper is made up of four parts. The first chapter mainly explains research purpose of this paper,the research present situation, significance of topic selection, research methods, the source of the language materials. In the second chapter, ontology research has been done,it is divided into two parts. In the first part,we explores the source of the "ba" and makes a study of semantic in specific syntactic structure on the basis of semantic extension. In the second part, we do researching on grammatical function of the measure word “ba”. The third part mainly studies semantic of nouns, verbs constraints of measure word "ba", seeking the role of metonymy and metaphor of these two kinds of mode of thinking that they can play when nouns and verbs match the the measure word “ba”. The third chapter analysis the errors made by foreign students in teaching Chinese as a foreign language and causes of the errors. In the fourth chapter, we focuses on teaching strategy of the measure word “ba”, this chapter analyzes the present teaching situation in teaching as a foreign language of “ba” and the arrangement defect of “ba” in teaching materials,teaching suggestions are put forward in the light of distribution of “ba” in teaching materials.
