The measure word is one of the most important language characteristics in Sino-Tibetanfamily of languages. At the same time, the measure word of nouns plays an important role inmodern Chinese. Among its categories, the measure word of nouns is the one which appearsearlier than others and the usage is very complicated. It also has a wide range of complexnumbers. So it matters a lot in modern Chinese. However, in the process of learning Chinese as asecond language, learners always make different sorts of errors, which are generally reflected inthe use of quantifies. Lacking of the right methods, the learners find it quite difficult to masterthe usage of quantifiers. Therefore, the learning of quantification has become a stumbling blockfor the second-language learners in Chinese learning. The teaching and learning ofquantifiers are naturally become the important content in the field of teaching Chinese as aforeign language. More and more experts and scholars have also given a high degree of attention.In the face of, the complex usage of numerous measure words most of the research is aboutquantifiers ontology. However, study of measure words teaching is scarce. Face with student’slearning bias, many teachers engaged in the work of teaching Chinese as a foreign language haveno experience and theoretical guidance. It brings great psychological confusion and heavyburden of study to the second language learners. Absolutely, all these problems have certaininfluence on the teaching and learning of Chinese, and hinder the promotion of Chineselanguage.In order to promote the development of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, manyexpects and scholars have done thorough studies and researches on measure words. Some ofthem made thorough inquiry on the particularity of quantifier grammar and pragmaticcharacteristics, from the perspective of the classification of the quantifier and ontologyresearches. The other summed up the causes of errors from the perspective of bias analysis.What’s more, they put forward some constructive and guiding suggestions about quantifierteaching Chinese as a foreign language from a macro perspective. In this papers, the author taking the teachers and overseas students in Henan university as an example. This paperemphasizes the analyses of problems during the teaching and studying the quantifier on the basisof previous studies. What’s more, this paper puts forward the teaching strategies combining withthe outline and primary of quantifiers in Chinese textbook.The structures of this paper are divided into three chapters: the first part is the introduction,which is illustrating the purpose and significance of the topic selection. And it’s also presentingthe relevant research situation, research methods and the theory. The second part takes the HenanUniversity teachers and students as the objects of the investigation. The paper adopts ininterview method, questionnaire method, class view method and home survey method and so on.The author analyzes the causes and the types of errors and the situation of teaching Chinese as aforeign language through above methods. The third part is according to make a targeted teachingstrategy research about using different teaching methods depending on different level of studentsin learning of primary quantifies resulting errors.
