The international communication of Chinese TV series has had a30-year history. Although great development and progress has been achieved, we are still in a vulnerable position in international market which is dominated by American TV series and Korean TV series. At the background of improving soft power of culture, the analysis of the obstacles during the process of the international communication is critically-needed to change the situation.This paper focuses on the Southeast Asia which is the earliest area and has best propagation effect. The research subjects are the Southeast Asia Chinese, the mainly recipient of the Chinese TV. And the paper depends on surveys, focus groups to do the deeply audience analysis to research the lack of the communication and come up with solutions.Under the guidance of this thought,this paper is divided into four chapters to do meticulous research of the spread of Chinese drama.The first chapter is the introduction. This chapter briefly discusses the history of the international communication of Chinese TV series to Southeast Asia. The second chapter discusses the theoretical basis and the research methods. Chapter3, with broad survey and rich data as the foundation, sum up the defects of Chinese drama in the international spread. Chapter4, on the research of first three chapters, come up with the communication solution of Chinese TV series. For example, build a culture brand, have international outlook, enhance the audience awareness and expand channel.
