It’s also propitious to inherit the experience of the excellent Chinese doctor and provide reference and ideas of clinical and research work in treating chronic constipation with traditional Chinese medicine.MethodsThe study subjects derive from the Digestive Department in Guangdong Provincial TCM Hospital from September 2015 to March 2016. At the same time, they must conform the diagnostic criteria of chronic constipation of TCM and Western medicine. They are randomly divided into treatment group and control group. Both of the group include 30 patients. The TCM group was given Yiqi Runchang decoction, while the other was treated by duphalac. The courses of treatment are 2 weeks. Then the improvements of the main symptoms and minor symptoms before and after treatment were observed and registered. The curative effect was judged by the statistical method, according to therapeutic effect of constipation which is from the diseases and syndromes in TCM criteria of diagnosis.ResultsThrough clinical observation, There were significant differences in total syndrome between the two groups with treatment (P<0.05). There were significant differences (P<0.05) in improving the total score of the main symptoms and the total score of secondary symptoms between the TCM groupand the control group. For each of main symptom, the defecation time interval and Stool character and defecation time comparison had no significant difference (P>0.05). But in the defecation difficulties, the Chinese medicine group and control group exist significant difference(P<0.05).And for each of secondary symptom, abdominal pain or abdominal distention, the groups were compared result of no significant difference(P>0.05). Languor, shortness of breath and thirst had significant difference(P<0.05). Analysising the curative effect, the total effective rate of the chronic constipation of the TCM group was 93.33%, while the control group was 86.67%, which had no significant difference(P>0.05)while comparing with the control group. While treating after one month, two group in treatment stable was different(P<0.05)。ConclusionThe two groups of the patient’s overall symptoms have improved effect。 Yiqi Runchang Decoction improved overall situation of main symptoms and secondary symptoms were significantly higher than the control group on the type of deficiency of both qi and Yin in the treatment of chronic constipation. In the three aspects of the main symptoms, such as the defecation time interval and stool character and defecation time, both of the groups improved the curative effect, while TCM group improved the effect of difficult defecation batter than the control group. In the secondary symptoms of abdominal pain or abdominal distention, the effect of two groups is the same. But in the fatigue of languor, shortness of breath and thirst, the effect of TCM group was significantly better than the control group. Analysising the comprehensive curative effect, there was no significant differences between the two groups while TCM group is better than the control group. So in the treatment of qi and yin deficiency type chronic constipation, the effect of Yiqi Runchang Decoction is good, while the efficacy was more stable than the control groupand, and it is worth to study and clinical extension in the further. |
