ObjectiveIn order to compare the effectiveness of two different acupoint-injection (Danshen injection and vitamin B,2 injection) on peripheral facial paralysis.MethodsSubjects are divided randomly into two groups:experimental group (acupoint-injection with Danshen injection) and control group (acupoint-injection with vitamin B12 injection), Each group of 35 people. The basic treatment is simple acupuncture and attendance for peripheral facial paralysis. The differences between experimental group and control group is acupoint-injection with different injections, one is Danshen injection, the other is vitamin B12 injection. The simple acupuncture prescription is Baihui, Yintang, Taiyang(affected side), Yangbai(affected side) Yingxiang(affected side), Dicang(affected side), Jiache(affected side), Sibai(double side), Yifeng(affected side), Hegu(double side); The acupoint-injection prescription is Taiyang (affected side), Dicang (affected side), Sibai(double side), Fengchi(affected side), per acupoint 0.2ml.3 times a week,1 week for a course, a total of 4 course. Using scales to evaluate the effectiveness in the first visit,2nd course,4th course and a month after treatment. Statistical datas were analyzed by SPSS18.0 for windows.Results1. Baseline comparison in two groups of patients in experimental group and control group, includes sex, age, duration of disease, history of disease, paralysed parts and scales for peripheral facial paralysis showed no significant difference (P>0.05);2. Effective rates were 70.6%,94.1%,97.1% while cure rate were 5.9%、 44.1%、61.8% in 2th course,4th course and a month after treatment in experimental group, effective rates were 79.49%、97.1%、97.1% while cure rate were 0%、44.1%、64.7% in 2th course,4th course and a month after treatment in experimental group, there are significant differences(P<0.05) in before and after treatment and different treatment time in the same group.3. The effectiveness of two groups has no significant difference(P> 0.05).4. The totality of the House-Brackmann rating≤grade Ⅲ,4 courses of the two groups at the end of the cure rate is 94.45%, follow-up cure rate is 100%. Experimental group followed up with a cure rate of 80%,20% in patients with grade V,VI, control group followed up with a cure rate of 37.5%,0% in patients with grade V, VI.Conclusion①Two therapies are effective for peripheral facial paralysis;②The effectiveness of two groups have similar effect in the treatment of peripheral facial paralysis.③Over time, effect will be better.④Base on the totality of the House-Brackmann classification, two groups of graded less than grade Ⅲ, follow-up cure rate is high. The effectiveness of experimental group is better than control group in patients with grade Ⅴ, Ⅵ at follow-up cure rate.
