Objective:By comparing combined treatment of Puerariae Decoction and Acupuncture & Moxibustion for Primary dysmenorrhea in type of Blood Stasis Due to Cold with traditional Acupuncture and Moxibustion treatment for Primary dysmenorrhea in type of Blood Stasis Due to Cold, it is feasible to observe curative effect of Acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese Medicine treatment on combined primary dysmenorrhea, and to explore its therapeutic mechanism, so as to provide new ideas and methods to clinical treatment of dysmenorrhea. Methods:On the theoretical research section, by studying classical medical works, reading gynecologic recordation in books about dysmenorrhea, and consulting a lot of references, the author expounded etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of primary dysmenorrhea from both Chinese and Western Medicine. On the clinical trials section,60 primary dysmenorrhea patients who met the criteria of clinical trials were selected, randomly divided into two groups. 30cases were in the treatment group, took Puerariae Decoction Granules one week before their menstruation, and combined with acupuncture treatment once in two days. The treatment lasted until the first day of menstruation. Every menstrual cycle is regarded as a course of treatment. The patients were supposed to undergo three consecutive menstrual cycles of treatment. For the control group there was only acupuncture treatment. The patients in this group started the treatment one week before their menstruation, once in two days. The treatment lasted until the first day of menstruation. The patients were supposed to undergo three continuous menstrual cycles of treatment. The author observed the dysmenorrhea symptom score before and after treatment, TCM symptom score and VAS score, made judgments of its therapeutic effects, and measured long term recurrence rate and therapeutic effect after three menstrual cycles.Results:(1):From the clinical efficacy of the two groups of patients, the total effective rate was 93.33%, recovery 33.33%; in the control group, the total effective rate of 80%, recovered 6.67%. Comparison of effects between the two groups, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The difference between two groups of patients before and after treatment of dysmenorrhea symptom score was statistically significant (P<0.05). The treatment group can effectively improve the symptoms of dysmenorrhea, clinical efficacy than the control group.(2) Comparison of the before and after treatment of the two groups, the VAS efficacy of the treatment group, the total effective rate was 93.33%, recovery 46.67%; in the control group, the total efficiency of 80%,20% recovery. The efficacy difference between the two groups of patients was statistically significant (P<0.05). After treatment of the two groups, VAS scores shows the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).(3) The traditional Chinese medicine efficacy Comparison of the two groups of patients, the total efficiency of the treatment group is 93.33%,33.33% recovery; in the control group, the total efficiency of 80%, recovered 6.67%. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.05). After treatment two TCM symptom scores were also statistically significant (P<0.05).(4) Three months after both of the groups stopping taken medicine, in the treatment group, three relapsed, accounting for 20%, in the control group, the recurrence is seven, accounting for 46.67%. The recurrence rate in the treatment group was significantly lower than the control group, indicating that the effect of treatment group is stable. Conclusions:The curative efficacy of combined treatment of Puerariae Decoction and Acupuncture & Moxibustion for Primary dysmenorrhea in type of Blood Stasis Due to Cold is more significant than traditional Acupuncture and Moxibustion treatment. During menstruation, it can effectively improve the symptoms of dysmenorrhea patients and improve the curative effect in patients’daily life. In long-term efficacy, acupuncture combined with the long-term recurrence acupuncture group was significantly lower than that, which indicating that the efficacy of Acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese Medicine is quite stable, lower recurrence rate.
