Clinical Study On Treating Primary Dysmenorrhea With Cold Congelation And Blood Stasis With Acupoint Application Therapy Combined With Traditional Chinese Medicine Granules

Primary dysmenorrhea is one of the most common diseases in gynecology,it affectes 76%to 78%of women population.Studies have shown that long-term dysmenorrhea can lead to structual changes in brain,it also causes anxiety,depression,and other mood disorders.For the sake of women's physical and mental health,dysmenorrhea should be highly concerned.People nowadays adapts to cold drinks and food,live and work in air conditioned environment,resulting in increasing number of dysmenorrhea with cold congelation and blood stasis type.There are many studies using Shaofu Zhuyu decoction to treat this type of dysmenorrhea,the result is quite impressive,but not much studies were done by using Shaofu Zhuyu decoction granules.There is't much studies using acupoint application therapy to treat dysmenorrhea with cold congelation and blood stasis type.Acupoint application therapy combined with traditional Chinese medicine granules to treat this type of primary dysmenorrhea is even less,it is necessary to fill the gape.Objectives:In this study,we tried to compare the clinical efficacy of treating cold congelation and blood stasis type dymenorrhea with Shaofu Zhuyu decoction granules and acupoint application therapy,and tried to explore whether the combination of two therapies could strengthen the efficacy,and at the same time provide a clinical basis for the treatment.Methods:90 patients with primary dysmenorrhea who met the diagnostic criteria,inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria were divided into experimental group,first control group and second control group,30 cases in each group.The experimental group was treated with acupoint application combined with traditional Chinese medicine granules;the first control group was treated with acupoint application;the second control group was treated with traditional Chinese medicine granules Shaofu Zhuyu decoction.The treatment was started one week before the menstruation,and for three menstrual cycles.Following the Guiding Principles for Clinical Research of New Drugs in Traditional Chinese Medicine,the Dysmenorrhea Symptoms score sheet,the TCM Syndrome score sheet and the Short Form-McGill Questionnaire were used to evaluate the level of dysmenorrhea.The evaluation was performed before treatment,after three cycles of treatment,and two months after stopping treatment.Results:Before treatment,there were no significant differences in age,weight,height,body mass index(BMI),menarche age,dysmenorrhea duration,and comorbidity between the three groups(P=0.26,0.73,0.19,0.16,0.57,0.55,0.45,all P>0.05),that means there are comparable.In this study,we compared the experimental group,first control group and second control group,and found that all three treatments can improve dysmenorrhea,but experimental group was significantly better than the first control group and the second control group(P<0.05),while the first control group and the second control group has no difference.Evaluated two months after stopping treatment,there was no statistical difference when compared the score with that after treating for three months,indicating that the effect continued.After three months of treatment,the total effective rate of the experimental group was different from that of the first control group and the second control group,while the first control group and the second control group did not differ.The total effective rate of the three groups was 83.33%,60%and 56.70%respectively.Two months after the treatment was stopped,the situation was similar.The total effective rate of the experimental group was different from that of the first control group and the second control group,while the first control group and the second control group did not differ,and the total effective rate of the three groups were 80.00%,50.00%and 43.33%respectively.This study found that all three treatments can improve Cold congelation and blood stasis primary dysmenorrhea,but acupoint application combined with traditional Chinese medicine granules Shaofu Zhuyu decoction treatment is significantly better than sole acupoint application and sole Chinese medicine granules Shaofu Zhuyu decoction treatment(P<0.05),while sole acupoint application and sole Chinese medicine granules Shaofu Zhuyu decoction treatment has no difference.
