ObjectiveFrom the Point of view of clinical observation, to make objective clinical efficiency evaluation of fire-acupuncture treatment of scapulohumeral periarthritis. And to gave essential basis for hunting the effective methods of treatment on Scapulohumeral Periarthritis in clinical pratice. All this conduced to better application and spreading in clinic.Methods60 patients with periarthritis of the shoulder were equally randomized to two groups(treatment group and control group, with 30 cases each). The criteria of diagnosis and adopted various treatment Parameters were fixed, and pain of the shoulder, function and activity of the shoulder joint were used as observation indexes. The results and conclusion are based on the statistical processing and analysis of the index.Treatment group:Fire-needle excite densely surround the critical pain induced location, Instruct treated to Stretching exercises. Control group: "Three Acupoints on Shoulder", vertical acupuncture treated, Instruct treated to Stretching exercises also.ResultsAs to the treatment group, there were 12 male patients and 18 female patients and age range of the patients was from 38 and 61 years old. The average age was 48.7±5.5 years old. The control group includes 14 male patients and 16 female patients and age range of the patients was from 40 to 64 years old. The average age was 49.4±5.8. There was no significant difference in the gender, mean age and course of disease (P>0.05). This showed that there was comparability between the control group and the treatment group.2. After the therapy, the pain score of the control group was 51.33±7.99, while the pain score of the treatment group was 57.5±9.84. It showed there was significant difference between the treatment group and control group (P<0.01), indicating that the treatment group was superior to the other group.3. After the therapy, the shoulder joint activity function integral of the control group was 29.40±5.49, while the function score of the treatment group was 33.30±4.84. It showed there was statistically difference between the treatment group and control group (P<0.01). In terms of improvement of shoulder joint activities, the treatment group was superior to the other group.4. After the therapy, the treatment group had a significant improved rate of 60%, while the control group had a significant improved rate of 30%. It showed there was significant difference between the treatment group and control group (P<0.01).ConclusionThe fire-acupuncture in treating scapulohumeral periarthristis is better than traditional mere acupuncture, it deserved to be adopted and promoted.
