ObjectiveScapulohumeral Periarthritis mainly occurs at the age of fifty, so it was called fifty-shoulder, shoulder pain and shoulder wind since the ancient time, which gather up the etiopathogenisis and pathogenesis vividly. The clinical manifestation mainly represent as generally tenderness of the shoulder and dyscinesia of the shoulder (especially abducens, external rotation and post extend are extremely restricted), furthermore, the pain exacerbates at night and the atrophy and accretion of the muscle around the shoulder are obvious after a period of time. The desease is belong to Bi-Syndroma in traditional Chinese medicine category. Shoulder joint is the widest range of motion of the body, so it is easy to fatigue and injury in the daily living and much easier to induce the disease. It has practical importance to research the security, convenient, utility therapeutics and to strengthen the study in Scapulohumeral Periarthritis.MethodsWe choose 60 cases who fit the diagnostic criteria of Scapulohumeral Periarthritis. We divide them into the Treatment group and the Control group of 30 cases each by randomization principle. The intervention for the Treatment group included Fire-needle Therapy combined with acupuncture treatment with 30 Cases. We selected Jian Yu, Jian Qian, Jian Zhen, A Shixie, Yang Linquan, Zhong Pinxie as the acupuncture prescription. In addition, We selected jian yu, Jian Liao, A Shixie as the fire needle prescription. (Make the patients akimbo, comb, touch dorsal to look for pain spots around the shoulder.)The other group (Control group): we choose the points as follow: Jian Yu, Jian Qian, Jian Zhen, A Shixie, Yang Linquan , Zhong Pinxie and not decanting pathogenic factors and reinforcing healthy qi. The two groups both do treatments once every two days, 6 times a course. The therapeutic effects were evaluated after two courses.ResultThe Treatment group:curing 14, excellence 10, utility 3, ineffective 1, total effective rate 96.43%. The control group: curing 10, excellence 9, utility 6, ineffective 4, total effective rate 86. 21%. There is a significant difference in the aspects of the rate of pain relief and increased range of motion of shoulder joint between pre and post treatment in the two group (P <0. 05). The two groups have a significant difference in the aspects of Pain state, anteflexion, abduction, post extend, outward rotation after two courses (P<0. 05). It indicates the aspects of Pain state, anteflexion, abduction, posterior extension, outward rotation function in treatment group improved more than them in Control group. But there is not a significant difference in the aspects of internal rotation betweet the Treatment group and the Control group (P>0. 05).ConclusionAcupuncture-therapy is one of the most general way of treating Scapulohumeral Periarthritis. The treatment that giving Fire-needle Therapy combined with acupuncture treatment can relieve the pain, improve the movement of the shoulder in the aspects of anteflexion, abduction, posterior extension, outward rotation. It has the advantage of low complications, economic and convenience , so the treatment is easily accepted by the patients.
