Effectiveness Of Chimu Lotion On The Treatment Of Flexor Tendon Digital Adhesions After Tenorrhaphy

Objective:The objective of this study was to assess the effect of Chimu lotion on the treatment of digital flexor tendon adhesions after tenorrhaphy.Methods:According to include and exclude standards,40 patients with digital tendon adhesions who needed received tenorrhaphy treatment in hand microsurgical of training hospital were recruited from December 2014 to September 2015. The participants were allocated randomly into two groups which were experimental group and control group, and 20 patients were in each group. Patients in the two groups were given early debridement and tenorrhaphy with improved Kessller suture. After tenorrhaphy, patients were given therapy of plaster external fixation, anti-inflammation, improving circulation and so on. After 4 weeks of tenorrhaphy the gypsum of patients in two groups were dismantled, wounded fingers of patients in experimental group were given therapy of fumigation of Chinese medicine functional exercise with two consecutive period of treatment and 2 weeks for a period of treatment, at the same time the others in control group were given therapy of fumigation of water and other therapy was same with experimental group. The flexion degrees and straight limited degrees of MP, PIP and DIP of wounded fingers after active or passive exercises were measured after 4 weeks,8 weeks and 12 weeks of tenorrhaphy. The swelling recover degree of wounded fingers and ache degree were also measured. Statistical analyses were performed using SPSS 20.0. In descriptive analysis of the sample, the data were expressed using mean (standard deviation), the statistical significance was defined as two-sided Pvalue of ≤0.05.Results:The results of the data analysis general information of patients showed,there were no difference between two groups in gender, age, damage area and other general information (P>0.05). After the therapy period and follow-up period, the exploratory analysis found that total active motion of wounded fingers all had obvious recovery in the two groups and had significant difference (P<0.05) between the two groups; The excellent and good rates of total active motion function in experimental group were 70% and 63.3% respectively after the therapy period and follow-up period, which were much better than the control group of which rates were of 35.7% and 28.6% respectively, and the exploratory analysis showed statistically significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05); The exploratory analysis on the swelling recover degree of wounded fingers and ache degree showed, there was difference between two groups (P<0.05), which stated the experimental group was better than the control group. No adverse events were happened in the study.Conclusions:Chimu lotion can improve total active motion function and the excellent and good rates of total active motion function, it also can relieve symptoms of pain and swell. It is a convenient, effective and safe therapy to treat tendon digital adhesions.
