ObjectiveThe aim was to observe the clinical effect of the acute stage of lumbar disc herniation (LDH) treated with wrist-ankle acupuncture and scraping, and to provide a simple, safe and effective treatment for the clinical treatment of the acute stage of LDH.MethodsAccording to the diagnostic criteria, inclusive criteria and exclusive criteria, a total of 60 patients with acute stage of LDH were selected and randomly split into the treatment group and the control group with 30 cases in each group. Patients in the treatment group were treated by wrist-ankle acupuncture and scraping, once a day. Otherwise the patients in the contol group were given diclofenac sodium sustained release tablets,75 mg each time, once a day. All the patients took five days as a course. At the pretherapy and post-treatment, the patients were measured by the JOA score, VAS score and serum CRP. At the same time, the clinical effect of the two groups were assessed by Standard of TCM Syndrome Diagnosis Efficacy after treatment. Afterwards, SPSS20.0 statistical analysis software was used to analyze the data collected. The efficacy of the two groups were compared according to the results.ResultsAfter the intervention,29 cases in the treatment group had completed the trial, and 28 cases had completed in the control group.Statistical analysis results were as follows:1 Baseline data:There were no significant differences in general data (gender, age) between the two groups (P>0.05). There were no significant differences in observation target (JOA score, VAS score and the content of CRP) before treatment between the two groups (P>0.05). It showed that the baseline data of the two groups were comparable.2 Clinical effect:In the treatment group,26 cases were effective,3 cases ineffective, and the total effective rate was 89.7%. While in the control group,17 cases were effective,11 cases ineffective, and the total effective rate was 60.7%. The curative effect of the two groups was significantly different (P<0.05). It showed that the treatment group was better than the control group.3 JOA score:The JOA scores of the two groups were increased after treatment than before treatment (P<0.05). The JOA score of treatment group increased significantly than the control group. Two groups of patients before and after treatment JOA score difference was statistically significant difference (P<0.05). It showed that the treatment group was better than the control group.4 VAS score:The VAS scores of the two groups after treatment were lower than before treatment (P<0.05). The VAS score of the treatment group was significantly lower than that of the control group. Two groups of patients before and after treatment VAS score difference was statistically significant difference (P<0.05). It showed that the treatment group was better than the control group.5 Serum CRP content:The content of serum CRP of two groups after treatment were significantly lower than those before treatment (P<0.05). The serum content of CRP treatment group decreased than the control group. The difference of serum CRP levels between the two groups before and after treatment was statistically significant (P<0.05). It showed that the treatment group was better than the control group.Conclusions1 Wrist-ankle acupuncture combined with scraping can effectively improve the lumbar vertebral function, relieve pain and control inflammation to a certain degree for the patients with treatment of lumbar disc herniation in acute period. And its curative effect is better than the oral diclofenac sodium sustained release tablets.2 Wrist-ankle acupuncture combined with scraping is an effective, safe and simple treatment method.
