ObjectiveIn this subject, one kind of tradictional techniques called the Dragon-tiger fighting needling method is used to treat patients with chronic strain of lumbar muscles, compared with the treatment of the routine acupuncture teehnique. By observing the condition before and after the treatment, compared differences of these two treatment in clinical efficacy in patients with chronic strain of lumbar muscles, in order to verify Dragon-tiger fighting needling method’s curative effect on patients with chronic strain of lumbar muscles, and provide the basis for the further clinical application and popularization.MethodsThis study was about a clinical effect observation. The subjects, including some college students, mainly came from the acupuncture outpatient and in-patient department in the first affiliated hospital of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. By using random Numbers table randomized research method,60 cases of the sample content were randomly divided into two groups, which were the Dragon-tiger fighting needling method group (treatment group) and the routine acupuncture teehnique group (contrast group) according to the proportion of 1:1 and each of them has 30 cases respectively. Both groups were treated with acupuncture points called Shen shu, Dachang shu, Weizhong, Jizhong, Yaoyang guan and Ashixue. The treatment group were treated with the Dragon-tiger fighting needling method on the Ashixue points and the routine acupuncture teehnique on the rest acupuncture points, while the contrast group were only treated with the routine acupuncture teehnique on all the acupuncture points. All the subjects were treated once a day, and after 5 days’ treatment, there’ s a 2 days’ rest, which means 7 days a course. And the whole treatment consisted of three courses. Before and after treatment, the relevant efficacy evaluation was respectively collected and recorded. And after this, all the data were processed statistically by using SPSS 18. Then the clinical efficacy of the two groups were evaluated by comparing the subjects’VAS scores before and after the treatment, the integral assessment of clinical symptoms and the integral assessment of clinical signs. The study found that both treatments could significantly reduce the pain of patients with chronic strain of lumbar muscles, and effectively improve the symptoms and signs, while the Dragon-tiger fighting needling method had remarkable advantages on the comprehensive efficacy and a more significant effect of analgesia of the treatment of chronic strain of lumbar muscles.ResultsAfter three courses of treatment, comparison of the efficacy indicators of two groups before and after treatment were significant differences (P<0.01); the treatment group is superior to the control group in improving clinical symptoms, signs, the degree of pain of patients with chronic strain of lumbar muscles(P<0.05). The total effective rate of the treatment group and the control group were 96.67% and 86.67%. After statistical analysis, the total efficiency of the treatment group is better than the control group (P<0.05).Conclusion1. Acupuncture treatment of chronic strain of lumbar muscles is effective. Dragon-tiger fighting needling method and the routine acupuncture teehnique both can significantly improve the clinical symptoms, signs and the degree of pain of patients with chronic strain of lumbar muscles.2. Dragon-tiger fighting needling method is superior to the routine acupuncture teehnique in improving clinical symptoms, signs and the degree of pain of patients with chronic strain of lumbar muscles.3. The efficacy of Dragon-tiger fighting needling method on the treatment of patients with chronic strain of lumbar muscles is superior to the routine acupuncture teehnique.
