Objectives(1)To translate the Staff Attitudes to Nutritional Nursing Care Geriatric scale(SANN-G) into Chinese from English, and evaluate the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of SANN-G;(2)To explore the effects of modules of employable skill on staff attitudes to nutritional nursing care elderly patients with Cardio-cerebral Vascular Disease(CVD) for Community Nurses. MethodsThis research contained two major parts: the first part was translation of SANN-G scale, and the second part was an quasi-experimental study of applying the modules of employable skill to community nurses.(1)Part one: Based on the process of translation, back-translation, culture adaption, and preliminary test, choosing a total of 342 community nurses, using the homogeneity reliability to evaluate the internal consistency degree of this form; using exploratory factor analysis(EFA)and confirmatory factor analysis(CFA)to test the structural validity of the scale, using the content validity index(CVI) to compute the expert content validity after the researchers obtained the permission.(2)Part two: An quasi-experimental design was used. 72 community nurses who got less than 54 scores of SANN-G scale were randomly divided into two groups. 38 nurses in the control group received nutritional nursing knowledge education in routine ways. Modules of employable skill consisted of separation and recombination the related knowledge in order to form learning suites that should be applicable to this study. And another 34 nurses in the intervention group received nutritional nursing knowledge training in several teaching methods, such as group discussion, case study and role playing. The scores of general self-efficacy and SANN-G of nurses were compared pre-post test. The instruments included nurse demographic questionnaire, the General Self-efficacy Scale and the SANN-G scale. The data were collected and then input the statistic software IBM SPSS Statistics 21.0. The statistic methods included descriptive statistical analysis, t-test, Chi-square analysis and the repetitive measurement deviation analysis. Results(1)Part one: Formed the Chinese version of SANN-G scale which consisted of 18 items in five dimensions; the Cronbach’s α coefficient was 0.803 and the Cronbach’s α of five dimensions ranged from 0.718 to 0.902; the Guttman Split-Half split half coefficient was 0.823; 20 nurses being investigated were retested after 2 weeks, and the test-retest reliability was 0.775. The I-CVIs of Chinese version of SANN-G scale were ranged from 0.83 to 1.00, and S-CVI was 0.97. The results of EFA of the Chinese version of SANN-G scale selected 5 factors: norms, habits, assessment, intervention and individuation. The cumulative variance contribution rate was 60.184%. The CFA of Chinese version of SANN-G scale of 5 factors model fit good criteria, all items load were greater than 0.4, fitting index χ2/df=1.818,RMSEA=0.042,GFI=0.921,CFI=0.975,IFI=0.968.(2)Part two: 68 community nurses including 35 nurses in the intervention group and 33 nurses in the control group finished the education. The results showed that:(1)There was statistical difference in nurses’ general self-efficacy between two groups(F=4.457,P=0.015), there was statistical difference with the time effects(F=14.968,P=0.001), and there was interaction with the time effects and the treatment effects(F=7.739,P=0.007).(2) There was statistical difference in nurses’ attitudes to nutritional nursing care between two groups(F=8.465,P=0.005), there was statistical difference with the time effects(F=121.022,P=0.000), and there was interaction with the time effects and the treatment effects(F=6.488,P=0.003). Conclusion(1)The Chinese version of SANN-G scale had good reliability and validity, which was suitable for the usage in community nurses who giving care to elderly patients in China;(2)Modules of Employable Skill can enhance the general self-efficacy of community nurses, strengthen the attitudes to nutritional nursing care of community nurses.
