Objective:To study the clinical effects of low intensity ultrasound therapy on uterine instauation after cesarean section. Methods:Since June to December in 2014,300 puerperas, who were received by obstetrical department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, the Second Affiliated Hospital of the Third Military Medical University and the Second Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, in accordance with the random number table, were randomly divided into focused ultrasound group and control group and were followed 7 days,21 days,42 days. The initial treatments were given in 6 hours after cesarean section. The experimental group was exposed to ultrasound produced by ultrasonic treatment apparatus,10 minutes each time and twice per day. The control group was similarly managed, but without any real ultrasound output. Several indexes were observed for final evaluation, including the extent of decline of fundal height, lochia change and VAS score before and after the treatment. (All the puerperas were informed and consent about the grouping, and signed information consent forms before the trial.)Result:Three puerperas were unfinished the treatment and six puerperas were out of touch during the follow-up. Eventually 291 cases of puerpera were included in statistical analysis,There were 144 cases in the ultrasound treatment group and 147 cases in the control group. The difference of general data between the two groups, such as puerpera’s age, gestational weeks, the times of pregnancy and bearing birth, neonatal body weight, and body mass index were not statistically significant (P>0.05). After the 5th treatment, drop index of the uterine fundus, the treatment group is significantly better than the control group (P<0.0001), the bloody lochia clear time and the visual analog scale(VAS) score levels were significantly lower than in the control group(all P<0.0001).Conclusion:The low intensity ultrasound can promote involution of uterus safely and effectively, shorten the total of the bloody lochia clear time, and relieve the uterine pain after cesarean section.
