Clinical Research On Treatments Of Sudden Deafness By Puncture The Tinggong(SI 19)with Fameng Acupuncture Method

Objective: This study aims to explore the different curative effect of treatment of sudden deafness with ear clogged feeling by puncture the Tinggong(SL 19) with Fameng acupuncture and puncture the Tinggong(SL 19) with conventional acupuncture, to find a more convenient and effective treatment methods for treatment of the disease.Methods: The 66 patients were randomly divided into treatment group and control group, each group of 33 patients. The treatment group acupuncture Tinggong(SL 19), auditory fainting region, Zhongzhu(SJ-3), Yifeng(SJ 17), Yanglingquan(GB 34), Zusanli(ST 36) point, Sanyinjiao(Sp 6) and Taichong(LR 3). Puncture the Tinggong(SL-19) with Fameng acupuncture method, and puncture the other acupoints with conventional acupuncture method. The control group acupuncture Tinggong(SL 19), auditory fainting region, Zhongzhu(SJ 3), Yifeng(SJ 17), Yanglingquan(GB 34), Zusanli(ST 36), Sanyinjiao(Sp 6) and Taichong(LR 3) with conventional acupuncture. Evaluation of effect of sudden deafness treatment based on the Guidelines for diagnosis and treatment of sudden deafness, established in 2005, by Chinese Medical Association of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery in Jinan. All patients have to take the pure tone audiometry tests before and after the treatment, and the test results will be recorded.Results: The statistics showed 18 cured eases, 8 Significant cases, 4 improved cases and 1 ineffective ease in the experimental group, with a total effective rate of 93.75%. And in the control group, there are 10 cured eases, 7 Significant cases, 10 improved cases and 5 ineffective ease. The total effective rate was 84.38%. There exists significant difference in therapeutic effectiveness between the two groups confirmed by rank-sum test, and the effects of the experimental group surpass the control group. On the relationship between the disease and curative effect, the statistical tests showed that treatment in mild or moderate deafness is better than middle and serious deafness. On the treatment of tinnitus associated with sudden deafness, the experimental group and control group showed no differences in efficacy.Conclusion: Fameng acupuncture method and conventional acupuncture are both effective for the sudden deafness treatment. But the effects of the Fameng acupuncture method surpass the control group, and it can be concluded from the results that Fameng acupuncture method is better than the conventional acupuncture method in the treatment of sudden deafness.
