The medical industry is with knowledge, intensive and technology. And the backwardness of the human resources management in the past has ignored the staff’s training development and resulted in the disproportionateness between the internal and the external environment of the hospital. The increasing competition situation in the socialist market economic restructuring period as well as the constant improvement for the health requirements of the medical technology, medicine knowledge and the masses put forward higher requirements for the quality of the hospital staff. Only concentrating on the training development can make the quality of the staff and the development of the hospital keep pace with the times. In a word, it is the “talent” competition that makes it possible to stand firmly and occupy the superiority in the era of knowledge economy.Such problems have become important problems in the construction and development of hospitals as strengthening the management of talent selection, training and employment, maximizing the efficient employment of personnel, and promoting talent construction. Most hospitals in China provide clinicians with post training and career development training. The outstanding problem is that these trainings direct to the post not the person. The design of the training lacks scientific basis. Bases on competency model, clinicians can better understand their capacity, decide what capacities needs to be developed to improve work efficiency, so as to choose training program properly and enhance training effects. The training based on competency theory attaches importance to key competency features of specific post, with an aim to improve clinician’s ability to achieve high performance and adapt to environment. This essay explores to apply competency theory to clinician training of hospital, so that its appropriateness and effectiveness can be improved.Based on the analysis of clinician composition, training information and post features of hospital S, the essay pointed out the main problems in current clinician training and applied competency theory to analyze them. In light of the actual situation of S hospital S, the essay illustrated the steps building clinician competency model, proposed the thoughts and ways to set up clinician training system based on competency model, hoping to provide theoretical and practical reference to further optimize hospital clinician training in hospital S. There are 6 sections in this article. The first one is an introduction, explaining the background and significance of the research. The second section is mainly to analyze the status of the staff training characters in health care field, to introduce S hospital and evaluate its training system. Section 3 describes the basic theories for training which serve as the theoretical framework of the paper. Section 4 analyzes the current situation of human resources training in the hospital, finding out its major problems and the reasons behind. Section 5 is case of enlightenment and suggestions. Section 6 is the conclusion, improve the hospital medical vocational skills and professional quality, enhance the overall competitiveness of hospital.
