Objective Recurrent Genital Herpes is a difficult to be cured s exually transmitted disease. The aim of Clinical investigation is to observe effect and safety of meridian-pricking therapy co mbined with local injection of interferon alpha 2bin the treatm ent of recurrent genital herpes.Method The cases who meet criteria of recurrent genital herpes were enrolled from Dermatology department of Hubei province ho spital of Chinese medicine, between March 2013 and June 2014.Cl inical manifestations: pain, itching, burning, recurrent herpes on the genitourinary and surrounding skin. Meanwhile, laborato ry tests were used to confirm the diagnosis. 90 cases were rand omly divided into three groups: treatment group, control group A, and control group B, 30 cases in each group. In treatment gr oup, The meridian-pricking therapy combined with local injectio n of interferon alpha 2b was used; In control group A, local i njection of interferon alpha 2b combined with He-Ne laser irrad iation was taken; In control group B, The meridian-pricking the rapy combined with He-Ne laser irradiation was used. Results ①The difference of age, gender, duration among three groups was no significant(P>0.05); ②There was a significant d ifference of curative effect between treatment group and contro l group A(P<0.05), The curative effect of the treatment groupwere better than those of the control group A. There was a sig nificant difference of curative effect between treatment group and control group B(P<0.05), The curative effect of the treat ment group were better than those of the control group B. There was no significant difference of curative effect between contr ol group A and control group B(P>0.05), The curative effect b etween the control group A and the control group B had no obvio us difference;③The difference of lesion healing time between t he treatment group and the control group A after treatment was no significant(P>0.05). lesion healing time of the treatment g roup and the control group A after treatment was shorter than t he control group B(P<0.05). There was a significant differenc e of lesion healing time before and after treatment in treatmen t group and control group A. lesion healing time after treatmen t was shorter than before treatment. There was no significant d ifference of lesion healing time before and after treatment in control group B. ④In three groups. The symptom scores after tr eatment was reduced significantly compared with those before tr eatment. Conclusion Meridian-pricking therapy combined with loca l injection of interferon alpha 2b promote lesion healing, impr ove the clinical symptoms and signs, and have lower the risk of recurrence and less obvious adverse effect in the treatment of recurrent genital herpes.
