| Background:Recurrent genital herpes(RGH) is a kind of sexually transmitted disease likely to recur repeatedly, with its most common and typical symptoms, a cluster of vesicles, pustules, erosions, ulcers and scabby, The RGH morbidity grows as the sexually transmitted disease morbidity. Rresently there is no way to cure thoroughly for RGH’s chronic recurrence. However,it does rings the patient serious mental and physical stress, especially recurs more than six times each year. And its long-term and incurable impose additional financial burdens on the patients, greatly affect their family stability and living quality. The efficacy of existing treatments in symptoms improvement or period of treatment, or recrudesce reducing is not so satisfactory. What’s more, the relationship between recurrence of RGH and poor immunity body itself has been widely known.At the same time,the application of astragalus acupoint injection in treatment of immunodeficiency disease has been proved effective. The project aims at seeking for some new treatment and method for curing RGH, by using astragalus acupoint injection, a characteristic treatment of TCM, and make good use of TCM’s traditional advantage to find some way of curing frequently chronic recurrence of RGH.Method:There are44subjects taken from STD Clinic, attached to Dermatology Dept of Guangdong hospital of TCM who fit the symptoms of RGH. Divid them into two groups randomly, treatment group and control group, with26subj ects and18subjects respectively. The former were treated with astragalu s acupoint injection at both side of the ST36(Zusanli), and the later, w ere treated with valaciclovir tablets only for oral administration follow the Clinics Guide for four months altogether. After the course, take a h alf-year’s follow-up period. Then, during which, observe the two groups on t imes of recurrences, time for skin lesions healing, Chinese medicine sympt oms, quality of life,and psychological status, and perform an analysis and comparison on the experiment data use some related tables.Aiming to find the efficacy of astragalus acupoint injection in RGH treatment.Result:1.No significant statistical difference between the average times of recurrences of treatment group and control group in the half year (P>0.05), which is2.19±1.63and2.67±1.53respectively. And there is no significant statistical difference between effective rate of the two groups(P>0.05), with the former69%, and the later50%.2. Both the scores of Chinese medicine symptoms(subjective symptoms) of two groups after3months’and6months’treatment decreased, only the treatment group is statistically significant(P＜0.05).3. No significant difference between the two groups in degree of skin lesions, survival qualities.(P＞0.05).4. After six months’treatment, the scores of the two groups in depression decreased, anxiety and Chinese medicine symptoms(subjective symptoms) the treatment group is more significant, of statistical difference (P＜0.05).Conclusion:The present experiment showed by clinic research that, by using astragalus acupoint injection, it obtained almost the same efficacy compared to valaciclovir in curing RGH,but more effective in improving subjective and depression symptoms. At the same time, it shows that neither of them is difference in improving skin lesions healing, survival qualities or decreasing anxieties. |
