Objective:To collect endocrinology clinic cases with polycystic ovary syndrome, explore the TCM syndrome types of PCOS distribution, and analysis the TCM syndromes and correlation of serum endocrine, so as to guide the clinical syndrome differentiation.Methods:Collected122cases of patients with PCOS included in the standard in doctors don outpatient service of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Affiliated Hospital, from November,2012to December,2013. With the clinical observation table, we recorded the patient’s age, occupation, duration, menstruation, systemic symptom, and tongue and pulse condition; measured the height, weight, and calculated body mass index (BMI); during the2nd-3rd days of the menstrual cycle before the treatment (no advantage follicles during the menstruation examined by B ultrasonic examination), extracted the morning fasting venous blood to examine serum prolactin (PRL), follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH) is generated, testosterone (T), estradiol (E2) and progesterone (P) levels; took glucose tolerance test and insulin release test to determinate the blood glucose and insulin level, including0h,1h,2h,3h, and then calculated the indexes of insulin resistance (HOMA IR). Based on the diagnostic criteria of TCM syndromes, the selected objects were divided into four syndromes:Kidney Deficiency and Blood Stasis, Spleen Deficiency with excessive Dampness, stagnation of Qi due to depression of Liver-Qi, and phlegm and blood stasis in the interior. Then concluded the TCM syndrome types of PCOS, analysed the relationship between PCOS, as well as TCM syndrome types, and BMI, the correlation of serum insulin and serum sex hormone.Results:(l)122cases of patients with PCOS in TCM syndrome types of frequency from high to low in turn is:40cases of Kidney Deficiency and Blood Stasis(32.8%),36cases of Spleen Deficiency with excessive Dampness(29.5%), stagnation of Qi due to depression of Liver-Qi by25cases (20.5%), and21cases of phlegm and blood stasis in the interior(17.2%), while Kidney Deficiency and Blood Stasis type is the most one.(2) BMI level:with PCOS, BMI level of Spleen Deficiency with excessive Dampness type and phlegm and blood stasis in the interior type are significantly higher than other types (P<0.05or P<0.01).(3) the level of FINS:with PCOS, the level of FINS of Spleen Deficiency with excessive Dampness type and phlegm and blood stasis in the interior type are significantly higher than other types (P<0.05or P<0.01).(4) the level of2hINS:with PCOS, the level of2hINS of Kidney Deficiency and Blood Stasis type is significantly higher than other types (P<0.05or P<0.01).(5) the level of HOMA-IR:with PCOS, the level of HOMA-IR of Spleen Deficiency with excessive Dampness type and phlegm and blood stasis in the interior type are significantly higher than other types (P<0.05or P<0.01).(6) the level of LH, LH/FSH:with PCOS, the level of LH, LH/FSH of Kidney Deficiency and Blood Stasis type is significantly higher than other types (P<0.05or P<0.01).(7)the level of T and PRL:with PCOS, the level of T and PRL of stagnation of Qi due to depression of Liver-Qi type is significantly higher than other types (P<0.05or P<0.01).(8))the level of FPG, FSH, E2and P:there was no statistically significant difference between the different TCM syndrome types (P>0.05)Conclusion:the root of PCOS is Kidney deficiency and imbalance of Zang Fu-organs, with the superficiality of Dampness and Blood stasis. The main pathogenesis is Kidney deficiency and blood stasis; BMI, INS, HOMA IR, LH, LH/FSH, PRL, and T have relationship with each other among different TCM syndrome types of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, and can be regarded as the basis of differentiation of syndrome classification of Traditional Chinese Medicine in patients with PCOS.
