?objective? This paper is to discuss the relationship between anxiety and depression in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS)and general conditions,TCM syndromes, sex hormones and endocrine hormones,PCOS patients with anxiety and depression were provided with corresponding psychological counseling to jointly promote their physical and mental health.?method? The study collected polycystic ovary syndrome diagnosis of 214 patients in gynaecological clinic in affiliated hospital of Chengdu university of traditional Chinese medicine from April 2019 to October 2019,gathered general information(age, disease history,BMI,acne score, hairy score),sex hormone and insulin releasing test, ultrasound of department of gynaecology, guided them to fill in the TCM syndrome type distribution table, anxiety and depression self rating scale, clear up excel table, set up the database, and try to find its correlation using SPSS22.0 statistical software.?results?1.The survey of 214 cases of patients with PCOS ranged in age from 19 to 40 with an average of 24.9 plus or minus 4.0 years, and ranged in disease history from 0.3 to 10 years with an average disease history of 2.6 plus or minus 1.7 years, and there were 31 cases of underweight women(14.49%),126 cases of normal weight(58.88%),57 cases of overweight weight(26.64%),121 women without acne(56.54%),93 cases with acne(43.46%),164 cases without hairy(76.64%),50 cases with hairy.2.There were 93 cases(43.46%)without hyperandrogenemia,121 cases(56.54%)with hyperandrogenemia,35 cases(16.36%)without hyperinsulinemia,179 cases(83.64%)with hyperinsulinemia among the 214 PCOS patients,There were 103 cases(48.13%)of hyperandrogenemia and hyperinsulinemia,18 cases(8.41%)of hyperandrogenemia but no hyperinsulinemia,76 cases(35.51%)of hyperinsulinemia and no hyperandrogenemia, and 17 cases(7.94%)of both. The two group between hyperandrogenemia and hyperinsulinemia also were not statistically significant in the anxiety and depression scores(P >0.05).3.Among the 214 PCOS patients,137 cases(64.02%)had no anxiety,77 cases(35.98%)had anxiety,60 cases(28.04%)had mild anxiety,17 cases(7.94%)had moderate anxiety, and none had severe anxiety. There were 103 cases(48.13%)without depression,111 cases(51.87%)with depression,76 cases(35.51%)with mild depression,31 cases(14.49%)with moderate depression, and 4 cases(1.87%)with severe depression.Anxiety score and depression score showed statistical significance with Pearson correlation analysis of(r=0.679,P < 0.05).4.The correlation analysis of PCOS patients' age, disease history,BMI and anxiety and depression score showed no statistical significance(P >0.05),while acne score and hairiness score were positively correlated with anxiety and depression scores. The patients with sexual life were divided into two groups: the group with fertility needs and the group without fertility need. The results showed that the anxiety score and depression score of the two groups were not statistically significant(P >0.05).5.In the distribution of TCM syndromes of 214 PCOS patients, there were 113 cases of kidney deficiency and liver depression(113 cases),52 cases of kidney deficiency and blood stasis(52 cases),and 49 cases of kidney deficiency and phlegm dampness(49 cases)in descending order of frequency. The anxiety and depression scores of kidney deficiency and blood stasis syndrome were the highest in TCM respectively. There was no statistically significant difference in anxiety score among TCM syndromes(P > 0.05),while there was statistically significant difference in depression score among TCM syndromes(P < 0.05).6.The sex hormones LH,FSH,E2,LH/FSH,T,FT and DHEA-S of the anxiety group and the non-anxiety group were statistically insignificant(P > 0.05),the two groups were statistically significant in the sex hormones P(P < 0.05),and the two groups were not statistically significant in the endocrine hormones CPeptide and insulin(P > 0.05).7.The sex hormones LH,FSH,E2,P,LH/FSH,T,FT and DHEA-S in the depression group and the non-depression group were statistically insignificant(P > 0.05),the endocrine hormone 1hc-p in the two groups was statistically significant(P < 0.05),and the insulin in the two groups was statistically insignificant(P > 0.05).?CONCLUSION? 1.Age,disease history and BMI did not affect anxiety and depression of PCOS patients, but acne score and hairy score of PCOS patients were positively correlated with anxiety and depression.2.In the distribution of TCM syndromes, the anxiety and depression scores of kidney deficiency and blood stasis syndrome in PCOS patients were the highest.3.Low levels of sex hormone P caused anxiety in patients with PCOS,but had no effect on FSH,LH,E2,T,FT,DHEA-S,c-peptide and insulin.4.Higher levels of the endocrine hormone 1hc-p cause depression in patients with PCOS,but had no effect on FSH,LH,E2,P,T,FT,DHEA-S and insulin.
