The age-specific proportion of the fifth national census in2000was used to standardize the data in this study.(1) Index of death level: including crude death rate, standardized mortality rate, and the death rate and cause-specific death rate in different age and gender.(2) Index of proportion and sequence of dying:proportion and sequence of death causes in different age and gender.(3) Index of burden of diseases:PYLL(Years of potential life lost), the rate of potential years of life lost (PYLL%o),(4) The methods of Cochran-Armitage was used to calculate the trend of death causes.Results:(1) The crude mortality rate was508.67/100000in Xinjiang Production and construction Crops from2008to2012. The male mortality (624.01/100000) rate was higher than the female (383.14/100000). The mortality rate of male was higher than the female obviously in circulatory system diseases, Neoplasms, Injury and poisoning and the digestive system diseases.(2) The mortality rate of infant had a decreasing trend which varied from806.55/100000to619.52/100000(3) The top ten causes of death were circulatory system diseases, cancer, respiratory diseases, injury and poisoning, digestive diseases, endocrine nutritional and metabolic diseases, infectious and parasitic diseases, urinary and reproductive system diseases, nervous system diseases and mental and behavioral disorders from2008to2012,for a total of98.59%. Conclusions:The health problem of male was serious in Xinjiang Production and construction Crops. The infant and aged people should be paid more attention in future.
