Objective: This study is to observe the influence to the vertebral-basilar arteryhemodynamics according to TCD by acupuncturing FengFu Baihu(iYiNao Formula) andTaichong points in patients with cervical vertigo,by contrast with acupuncturing FengFuand Baihui points and to provide objective evidence for optimization of clinical acupointsselection for cervical vertigo. Methods: The clinical study of50cases selected were randomly divided intoobservation group and control group which were observed before and after acupuncture byTCD,as shown the changes of BA, bilateral VA, PICA blood flow velocity in the twogroups and the data were statistically analyzed (t test) to observe the differences betweentwo groups. Results: Clinical studies have shown, for BA high velocity type and PICA lowvelocity type of the observation group, there is highly significant difference before and afterthe treatment within the groups(P<0.01). The results indicate that it can improve theblood flow of the high velocity of BA and PICA low velocity type by both acupuncting theYiNao Formula and Taichong acupoints.Comparing the difference between two groups, observation group has a better tendency on improving the blood flow of BA high velocitytype,VA high velocity tape,PICA low velocity type than control group. Conclusion: Acupuncturing YiNao Formula and Taichong acupoints has a significantimprovement in patients with cervical vertigo vertebral-basilar artery hemodynamics, which provides an objective basis for cervical vertigo.
