BackgroundHyperplasia of Mammary Glands was an ordinary disease among women which always makes troubles. There were so many treatment in resent years, modern medicine mainly depends on oral corticosteroids and operations, but a trouble was a trouble after an operation, Hyperplasia of Mammary Glands would stage a comeback through the origin diseased tissues was removed by operation. The treatment of oral corticosteroids could relieve the symptoms of pain in short time, but it could not improve our endocrine systems, it destroy it. Acupuncture and massage was a good treatment that can cure it in many ways through the meridians and points, but the mechanism is unclear, the methods of choosing points and the curative standards were not standard, so we can not easily judge the results. Almost all the research was about clinic observation which the design of experiment was not much rigorous, so there was still space for further research to guide clinical practice. The research was about Hyperplasia of Mammary Glands (Type:Maladjustment of The Chong and Ren Merldlans) by massaging with a single thumb combined with acupuncture, aimed to explore a method to cure Hyperplasia of Mammary Glands.ObjectiveTo explore the effect of massaging with a single thumb combined with acupuncture on Hyperplasia of Mammary Glands (Type:Maladjustment of The Chong and Ren Merldlans), to find a feasible and efficient treatment.MethodsThe method of randomized and controlled was applied in the study.60 qualified Hyperplasia of Mammary Glands (Type Maladjustment of The Chong and Ren Merldlans) patients were randomized divided into control group and treatment group, both group were 30 cases. The treatment group was treated by massaging with a single thumb combined with acupuncture, and the control group was treated by acupuncture only. The curative effect was evaluated by the changing of pain and lump after treatment. The data statistical software SPSS19.0 was used for statistical analysis.Results1. The results state the pain、hardness of the lump、magnitude of the lump、 region of the lump、menoxenia、soreness and weakness of waist and knees of two group were improved, there were statistical significant within groups (P<0.05).2. The treatment group has a advantage in improving the aspect of the pain、 region of the lump (P<0.01), while there was no diffence in improving the hardness of the lump、magnitude of the lump after treatment (P>0.05)3. Comparison of the clinical efficacy of the overall, Treatment group 29 cases, Two cases were cured,11 cases markedly effective in 13 cases,3 cases, the total efficiency:89.66%; control group,29 cases were cured 0 cases,8 cases were markedly effective in 12 cases,9 cases, the total efficiency: 68.97%. The difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).ConclusionAcupuncture was useful for Hyperplasia of Mammary Glands(Type:Maladjustment of The Chong and Ren Merldlans),but it was space to find a better way. The research show the therapy of massaging with a single thumb combined with acupuncture was superior than acupuncture only in improving the the aspect of the pain、region of the lump, and could shorten the time of treating. It was limited by the time, the sample of patient, so it need further study in the further.
