ObjectiveTo study the clinical efficacy of treatment of the cervical spondylopathy of vertebral artery using the’neck three-needle’ acupoint injection combined with acupuncture; explore the mechanisms of using the’neck three-needle’ acupuncture point injection combined with acupuncture to treat cervical vertebral artery disease; compare the’neck three-needle’acupuncture point injection combined with acupuncture with acupuncture only in their effect on the patients suffering from the cervical spondylopathy of vertebral artery.MethodsThe subjects were collected from 60 cases of cervical vertebral artery patients who met the diagnostic criteria and received treatment in Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture outpatient and inpatient department from April 2014 to March 2015, and these cases were randomly assigned to the combination of acupuncture point injection group (ie, the treatment group) and conventional acupuncture group (control group), in which the treatment group got 30 patients as well as the control group. The "cervical vertigo symptoms and functional assessment scales" (ESCV) and "cervical spondylosis clinical assessment scale projects and assessment criteria" (CASCS) scores were used to assess before and after treatment; and the "Chinese disease diagnosis and efficacy standards"(1994) was used for efficacy assessment. Each primary efficacy endpoint was analyzed using SPSS19.0 software.Results1. After treatment, the ESCV scores of the two groups have both improved significantly compared with before (P<0.05), and the treatment group is better than the control group (P<0.05). Moreover, compared with the control group in each rating index of dizziness, neck pain, headaches, daily life and work, mental and social adaptation the treatment group has a significant difference after treatment, which was statistically significant (P<0.05).2. Compared with before in clinical evaluation score of cervical disease, the two groups both have a significant improvement after treatment, and the treatment group is better than the control group (P<0.05).3. CSA treatment group total effective rate was 96.67% in the treatment group while 86.67% in the control group, with a difference between the two groups (P<0.05), and the treatment group was better than the control group.ConelusionThe clinical efficacy of the "neck three-needle" acupuncture point injection combined with acupuncture is significantly higher than conventional ordinary acupuncture in the treatment of vertebral artery type of cervical disease. With the advantages of a significant effect as well as a high cure rate, and in line with clinical practice, this treatment method is suitable to be widely used and promoted in acupuncture clinic.
