The Survey Rearch On The Mental Health And Its Influential Factors In The Elderly

Objective To understand the actuality and analyze the influencing factors of the mental health of the elderly in He Bei province.Methods6173elderly people of three cities in Hebei province were selected by multi-stage stratified cluster sampling method during July2012to May2013, investigations were carried with questionnaires, including general demographic characteristics questionnaire of elderly people (urban and rural,age, gender,marriage, educational level, economy, chronic disease,etc), SCL-90, AHSMSRS, FAD, SSRS and ADL. All data were established with EXCEL and used SPSS13.0statistical software for statistical analysis.Results1Status of mental health of the elderly:In6173people,4758of them are without symptoms, accounting for77.1%;1257of them are with mild symptoms, accounting for20.4%;154of them are with moderate to severe symptoms, accounting for2.5%.2The influencing Single factor analysis of mental health of the elderly:Total scores of mental health were significant in urban and rural, gender, age, marriage, educational level, economic status, the kinds of chronic diseases, ADL, uncomfortable of the past half year, health care, endowment insurance, self health management, FAD, communication with children and SSRS(P<0.05)3The influencing multiple factors analysis of mental health of the elderly:According to the total scores of SCL-90:age, the kinds of chronic diseases, ADL, uncomfortable time in the past half year, monthly income, medical insurance, pension insurance, health self-management, FAD, communication with children and SSRS are influencing factors of mental health.Conclusion1A higher proportion of older people with mild mental health symptoms in Hebei province,the mental health status was in a medium level.2Multiple factors analysis showed that factors associated with all the fields were:ADL, the kinds of chronic diseases, self health management, SSRS, health care. And uncomfortable time in the past half year, pension insurance, communication with children, monthly income, age, FAD and gender, were influencing factors of individual fields. Age, the kinds of chronic diseases, ADL, uncomfortable time in the past half year, monthly income, medical insurance, pension insurance, health self-management, FAD, communication with children and SSRS were influencing factors of total scores of mental health.
