| ObjectiveObserve the clinical curative effect of the Shang-Bai-Gao transdermal patch and powder in treating the knee osteoarthritis of dampness-heat pattern.MethodThe study has applied a randomized clinical trial. we select60patients who went to see the doctor in our hospital during August2013and January2014into our research by the inclusive criteria. The60patients were randomly divided into two groups:patch group (A group) and powder group(B group),30patients in each group. Patients in A group were treated with Shang-Bai-Gao transdermal patch. Two patches were put on each patient’s pain knee. Patients in B group were treated with Shang-Bai-Gao powder. A bag of powder were put on each patient’s pain knee. Besides these external used medicine, all patients were told that they should have a good life habit and guarantee the enough leisure time. The course of treatment for all patients was four weeks. Observed indexes include:VAS paint score, the activity sphere of knee joint, the circumference of the knee joint, the evaluation score of knee joint function. Observed time include:first day,7th day,14th day,28th day,4times in all. In the end, we analyzed the data which were recorded on each observed time.ResultsAll the60patients had finished the course without anyone drop out. Before the treatment, all the patients’Observed indexes were similar in each group. Through the chi square test, there is no significant difference in sexes and ages between the two groups P>0.05. After the treatment, we analyzed the data of each group. After the one factor analysis of variance, we found that three Observed indexes have some significant changes. The mean of each observed indexes in a group are slightly superior than that of in B group but there is no statistically difference between the two groups.ConclusionsTwo style of the durg formulation-Shang-Bai-Gao transdermal patch and Shang-Bai-Gao powder-have the definite curative effect in treating the knee osteoarthritis of dampness-heat pattern. Two medicine not only can relieve the knee paint and knee swelling, but also can improve the circumference of the knee joint. Compare with the Shang-Bai-Gao powder, the Shang-Bai-Gao transdermal patch is slightly better, especially for some aspects:relieve the knee paint, knee swelling, improve the circumference of the knee joint, the evaluation score of knee joint function. However, there is no statistically difference between the two groups for the curative effect. |
