ObjectiveWith the development of the health system reform,it puts forward higher requirement on the hospital service level, medical quality and medical staffs ideas.Simultaneously hospital culture play a much more important role in modern hospital development. Job engagement which is a key factor that influences the performance of employees is closely related to organization efficiency. Yantai affiliated hospital of Binzhou medical school is just in the transition stage of developing to the tertiary-level facility.To understand the hospital staff evaluation of hospital culture, staff’s perception of their own work and the present situation of the hospital culture and employee job engagement can provide theoretical basis for the hospital manager. It also has strong practical guiding significance to the overall development of Yantai affiliated hospital of Binzhou medical school,and has reference significance for the development of other hospitals in our country.MethodsThis study investigates and analyses hospital culture and employee engagement condition by using questionnaire which is came from the DOCS and UWES and interview method. In all300questionnaires, acquires281questionnaires and275valid questionnaires. By testing the reliability and validity, the scale’s credibility is verified. And then we do descriptive statistics analysis^variance analysis and multiple regression analysis to sum up the correlation between the hospital culture and employee engagement by using spss16.0.The result shows that:ResultsHospital employee engagement levels have significant difference in gender, education and post. Male employees’job engagement level higher than women Job engagement increases with the rising of education background. Different job categories of hospital employees’have different score levels in job engagement. The nurses’score is low and the administrative staffs’score is higher; As for the perception of the hospital culture, adaptation and mission hospital cultures’ score are higher,especially in the team oriented.,articipatory and consistency cultures’score are low, especially in the creative revolution, which means hospital staff deem that hospital lacks flexibility and innovation. For the average value of three dimensions is energy(5.17),sacrifice(4.94),concentration(5.06).Low scores on the dimension of dedication suggests that the level of hospital staff’s work enthusiasm and accepting of job challenge is lower than that of their focus and vitality on working.Regression analysis confirmed that the hospital culture of each dimension has a positive effect on employee job engagement.ConclusionIn view of the problems that arising from the hospital culture and employee job engagement, we suggest that the hospital should attach importance to cultural construction, especially the innovative hospital culture. The hospital should also fully understand the status quo of hospital culture, analyze staff’s ideal, faith and demand based on its actual situation,in order to probe if the existing hospital culture put into fullplay and meet the demand of hospital development and medical staff, strengthen the brand building and build a good image; Pay attention to the innovative construction of hospital culture;Improve the system of hospital culture.In addition,hospital managers should attach importance to enhance the level of hospital staff job engagement from different angles,including to improve the working process and increase staff job autonomy;To make competency-position fit and develop staff career planning; Strengthen medical staff’s sense of competence and perceived organizational support.
