[Objective]To investigate clinical efficacy and method of arthroscopictreatment under popliteal cys, by comparatively analyzing the clinical efficacy ofopen surgery and arthroscopic treatment under popliteal cyst [Methods]DuringJanuary2011to December2013, we select35patients who were diagnosed withpopliteal cyst from The Union Hospital of Fujian Medical University. Beforeoperation, all35patients were found MR with Intra-articular. Among them,30caseswere with meniscus tear,4cases with villonodular synovitis,24cases withosteoarthritis (2cases of articular loose bodies, medial and lateral tibial MR signalabnormalities, mild joint space narrowing in8cases, the MR signal patellarabnormal14examples). Those35popliteal cyst patients were divided into twogroups:17cases under group A were treated under arthroscopy. According toRauschning and Lindgren popliteal cyst grading, Grade Ⅰ0cases, Grade Ⅰ7cases,Grade Ⅲ10cases;The rest18cases under Group B were treated bytraditional open surgery. Be graded as,Grade Ⅰ1cases,GradeⅠ10cases, Grade Ⅲ7cases. Recorded and compared two groups of operative time, length of incision, bleeding amount, visual analogue scale (Visual Analogue Scale/Score, VAS) VASpostoperative scores, the cyst recurrence rate, and improvement rate of the recoveryto0~Ⅰ grade [.Results]All patients were followed up for4to18months,an averageof11.3±3.7months.The operative time of Group A is (80.2±22.5min), Group B(77.8±24.2min). There is no significant difference between two groups (P>005.);The incision length of Group A is (1.6±0.5) cm,Group B is (9.7±3.4) cm. Thedifference between the two groups was statistically significant (P <005.);Thebleeding amount of Group A is (7.6±2.2)ml, Group B (47.5±14.3) ml, thedifference of two groups also had statistically significant.(P<0.05);after operation VAS of Group A is (2.4±0.6) cm, Group B is (4.3±1.2) cm Thedifference between the two groups was statistically significant (P <005.); afteroperation recurrence rate of Group A is0,Group B is27.8%,The difference betweenthe two groups was statistically significant (P <005.);After improvement rate ofGroup A is94.1%, Group B is83.3%, The difference between the two groups wasstatistically significant (P <005.);[Conclusion]The arthroscopic treatment ofpopliteal cyst has satisfactory efficacy, comparatively open surgery it has severaladvantages, such as mini-invasion,less bleeding, postoperative pain, low recurrencerate, fast recovery and also treatment other joint disease.
