ObjectiveTo investigate the relationship between25-hydroxyvitaminD(25-(OH)D)andcarotid intima-media thickness(IMT)in patients with hypertension.Methods135subjects were collected in the study(included97hypertensive out-patientsand38healthy subjects),all the subjects were from haizhu square, which is theoutpatients of the second affiliated hospital of guangzhou medical college. At the ageof48-78years old,65subjests were men,70subjects were women.General situationand diseases history were collected. All the subjects measure blood pressure in reststate, and detected25-(OH)-D-concentration, routine blood and blood biochemical andcarotid IMT in next day morning. First, all the subjects were divided into hypertensiongroup and control group, then the hypertensive subjects were divided into25-(OH)D-insufficient-(<30ng/ml)group and25-(OH)D-sufficient(≥30ng/ml) groupby25-(OH)D concentration. Again according to the different blood pressure, allhypertensive patients would be divided into grade1hypertension group, grade2hypertension group and grade3hypertension group. Finally, we analyzed the data withSPSS13.0.Results1. Clinical data comparison1.1Hypertension group and control group comparison: There was no significantdifference in age, gender, hsCRP, P, TG, CHOL, HDL-C, LDL-C in two groups (P> 0.05). But hypertension group’s BMI, WBC count, SBP, DBP, hsCRP, Glu, carotidIMT all significantly increased(P<0.05), Ca and25-(OH)D significantly decreased(P<0.05).1.2Hypertension group of25-(OH) D insufficiency group and25-(OH) Dsufficient group clinical data comparison: There was no significant difference in agegender, BMI, hsCRP,Glu,Ca, P, TG, CHOL, LDL-C in two groups (P>0.05). But25-(OH)D insufficiency group’s SBP, DBP, WBC count, carotid IMT all significantlyincreased(P<0.05), CHOL and HDL-C significantly decreased (P<0.05).1.3Different blood pressure grade hypertension group clinical data comparison:Grade1hypertension group’s WBC count decreased(P<0.05). Different bloodpressure grades25-(OH) D levels were statistically significant different (P <0.05),25-(OH) D decreased significantly when the blood pressure Elevated. Compared toGrade2hypertension group and Grade3hypertension group, Grade1hypertensiongroup’s Carotid IMT significantly decreased(P<0.05) But there was no significantdifference between Grade2hypertension group and Grade2hypertension group.2. Pearson correlation analysis revealed that25-(OH)D had no relationshipwith age, gender, Glu, Ca, P, TG, CHOL, LDL-C(P>0.05). But it was dispositivelycorrelated with BMI, WBC count, hsCRP, carotid IMT(P<0.05), it was spositivelycorrelated with HDL-C. After adjusted age, SBP, DBP, BMI, WBC count, hsCRP, Glu,Ca, P, TG, CHOL, HDL-C, LDL-C, partial correlation analysis revealed that25-(OH)D was still independent spositive correlated with carotid IMT, the partialcorrelation coefficients was-0.847(P<0.01).3.25-(OH)D as the dependent variable, and age, BMI, SBP, DBP, WBC count,hsCRP, Glu, Ca, P, TG, CHOL, HDL-C, LDL-C as the independent variables, muluplelinear regression analyse indicated that carotid IMT was indepndent factorassociated with25-(OH)D, and the β value of-0.871, the test statistic t=-14.431, thedifference was statistically significance (P <0.01)。Conclusion1.25-(OH)D decreased significantly in patients with hypertension, the severity ofhypertension was related to25-(OH)D level. 2. Carotid IMT significantly increased in patients with hypertension, the severityof hypertension was related to carotid IMT.3.25-(OH)D was dispositively correlated with carotid IMT in patients withhypertension,25-(OH)D was indepndent factor associated with carotid IMT.
