Objective:An increase in arterial stiffness can lead to high blood pressure in patientswith higher systolic blood pressure and pulse pressure, left ventricular hypertrophy, coronary heart disease, etc, are a common cause of left ventricular diastolicdysfunction. Carotid artery is window of medium-sized artery, the body can indirectlyreflect the degree of hardening of the degree of peripheral arterial sclerosis, but thecarotid intima-media thickness and the relationship between left ventricular diastolicfunction has not completely sure. Therefore, this study by discussing hypertensionpatients with carotid artery intima-media thickness and left ventricular diastolicfunction, the relationship between the two to further understand the relevance ofhardening of the arteries and diastolic dysfunction, peripheral atherosclerosis andcardiac function in order to achieve the purpose of early screening. Methods: Select diagnosis of100cases of hospitalized patients with essentialhypertension of continuous, extract determination of peripheral venous blood relatedbiochemical indicators on an empty stomach. Application of echocardiography todetermine relevant parameters (mitral diastolic early and late diastolic filling A rapidfilling E peak and mitral valve ring early diastolic velocity E ’value and late diastolicvelocity A) to evaluate left ventricular diastolic function. Through the determinationof ultrasonic carotid intima-media thickness (IMT), according to the IMT is greaterthan0.9mm and atheromatous plaque divided the patients into abnormal group andnormal group, apply SPASS17.0for statistical analysis.Results:1. Carotid intima-media thickness abnormal systolic blood pressure higherthan normal group (143.50士17.44vs134.34士16.39), the difference was statisticallysignificant (P <0.05).2. Carotid intima-media thickness E/E ’abnormal group is significantly higher thannormal group (13.64士3.06vs10.58士3.58) and E’ value is lower than normal group (5.16士1.37vs6.65士2.23), the difference had statistical significance (P <0.05)3. Left ventricular diastolic function indexes, UA, E/E ’and age CERA, E, A, IVS,IMT were positively correlated, and negatively correlated with E’(P <0.05)4. Age, systolic blood pressure, IMT, significant impact on left ventricular diastolicfunctionConclusion: IMT hypertension patients with left ventricular diastolic functionindexes of E/E ’were positively correlated, prompt thickening of IMT is associatedwith decreased diastolic function, hardening of the arteries may be decreased leftventricular diastolic function of the important reasons. Carotid intima-media thicknessmay be helpful in the evaluation of left ventricular diastolic function.
