Hyperadrenocorticism, also known as Cushing’s syndrome, is a kind of common canine endocrine disorder. The classical clinical features are mainly polydipsia, polyuria, polyphagia, symmetric hair removal, skin thinning, abdominal enlargement, exercise intolerance and recurrent urinary tract infection. The present study aimed to summarize the right diagnosis and treatment scheme of hyperadrenocorticism through contrastive analysis of the collected cases during internship. This study confirmed hyperadrenocorticism by means of clinical diagnosis, B ultrasound, blood routine examination, biochemical test and urinalysis. Oral trilostane combined with symptomatic treatment were introduced to cure hyperadrenocorticism cases, simultaneously, the level of cortisone was examined regularly to make an adjustment of the dosage of trilostane.Among all 10 collected hyperadrenocorticism cases, seven dogs were spontaneous hyperadrenocorticism, two were suspected hyperadrenocorticism, and another one was iatrogenic hyperadrenocorticism. After treatment, only one iatrogenic hyperadrenocorticism recovered completely. Among the seven spontaneous cases, five recovered well, one got better and then transfered to another hospital, the other one was withdrawed treatment because of secondary diabetes mellitus although its hyperadrenocorticism symptoms was eliminated. Two suspected cases were withdrawed treatment according to the pet owners. It was revealed that canine hyperadrenocorticism could be confirmed through clinical diagnosis, routine laboratory diagnosis, B ultrasound and LDDS test, and the iatrogenic hyperadrenocorticism could be cured by trilostane, while it only could alleviate or remove the symptoms of spontaneous hyperadrenocorticism, and the dosage of trilostane needed to be adjusted according to the level of cortisone.
