With its flexible way of plants and rich in natural visual effect,flower border can creat a beautiful ecological landscape, receiving people’s great affection.As the applications of flower border are more and more extensive and widespread today, how to improve the level of the construction of flower border, it is very worthy of attention and research. Applying medicinal plants to flower border can abundant plant material, and create more novel theme flower borders.The main results of this paper are as follows:1.Medicinal plant flowers habitat application value are introduced, includin-g the ornamental value,healthcare value,cultural value and popular science valu-e; Secondly,combined with the flower border application status in our country,an alyzes medicinal plants,with stronger adaptability and rich varieties, have more advantages than foreign introduced plants,can be rational development and utili-zation.2.Through field investigation, as well as on the research of the network, books, paper and other materials,From medicinal plants in east China,choose 108 kinds of medicinal plants of high ornamental value for flower border application,belonging to 47 families,100 genera.Including 89 kinds of herbs,12 kinds of shrubs, kinds of woody vines and 5kinds of semi-shrub.Those plants arerelatively focused on the compositae, followed by liliaceous, labiatae, polygonaceae, leguminosae, rosaceae, verbenaceae and ranunculaceae.According to the species ecology characteristics classification,there are 20 kinds of heliophyte plants,15 kinds of shade flower border plant materials,19 kinds of xerophytic plants and 20 kinds of aquatic plants used in flower border;According to the landscape hierarchical classification,there are 19 kinds of prospects plants,21 kinds of middle plants and 15 kinds of background plants of flower border.3.The design of medicinal plants related theme flower border is introduced,with three theme flower border designs for township fun, convalescence, waterfront as examples, to clarify that medicinal plants used in flower border design in the east China can be innovative and practical.
